I'm holding the smirks in at the moment. But they are ready to be unleashed.

I don't get why they think they're so big. I really don't.

It's just the football food chain isn't it.

We don't understand why Southampton don't except it, and we can't except that Lukakuwants to move to a bigger club.

Back to the question.
I am not sure he is inspiring. He may be. He was an impressive player. He has done well coaching Dutch clubs. He has made something out of Southampton. Everton are a much bigger team. We seem to have a squad of talented players who would be very promising if they can play as a team. I hope he has the weight to push them into shape. An early test will be to see how many of the current holy trinity he can persuade to stay. I would be more excited by the prospect of Emery. But if Koeman is in, I hope he will make a magnificent blue. It will be good to have a driver back at the front of the bus. We can all cheer him on, and, with a little luck, and a lot of self belief, it should be an interesting ride. Hold very tight please, ding, ding!

Until in 2 years or less Barcelona, Arsenal of the Dutch national side come calling. He's been around and that won't stop at Goodison.

It's one thing to inflate the importance of your club but these clowns have totally lost touch with reality and convinced themselves that they really are a big club!

Meh, I'll let them have it

It means nothing in the grand scheme of things

We know we're historically a bigger club than them and enjoy much more support both in the UK, Ireland and the rest of the world

They're just anxious because he's a good manager and it looks like he's coming here

They're a one city team as well and their rivals are in the bottom division of the Football League, so that's going to distort things

In their part of the world, they are the biggest team. They aren't surrounded by big clubs in the North West like we are or down in London where there's big clubs everywhere

Their rivals are Pompey and Bournemouth

Pompey, the most historically successful of the three clubs, are down in the doldrums while Saints play in the Premier League. That'll distort any fans perception, especially when they've had such a good season

I can completely understand why some of them perceive it to be a lateral move for Koeman to come here at the moment

They're wrong like, but I can completely understand it

What you would expect....playing our spending down, claiming we all think he is spending his own money, only spending when we sell etc.

Just re-writing what is happening, to make themselves feel better.

Just had a quick look at a couple of pages on RAWK.

They make some decent points, such as us being a bit deluded, but surely that's like the massively deluded pot calling the rather less deluded pot black!

Despite finishing 8th they still think they are world beaters and are still struggling to understand their place in the modern game, which is a far, far cry from anything they have been in the past.

Let's be honest, Klopp is a choker in finals (5 times baby)....and they are about to lose Coutinho who is their best player, they aren't big enough to hang onto their best players any more than we are now, which is so ironic but they are too dumb to notice.

When we see the other board members coming on with Moshri, that's when they will go into auto fume. When the new stadium is underway, again fume of epic proportions.

Bitterness will explode when he cash starts getting splashed around and Koeman is the type of manager who they would not want us to get. He is a world star and a big name in football, far bigger than Herr Klopp ever could be.

Thomas, with respect your last para is nonsense. I would much rather have Klopp that Koeman as much as it pains me to say that. Klopp has done far more in club football that Koeman ever has. I just cannot help but think that for £7 million a year we could have done better than Koeman.

I personally think Klopp is a good manager

As he's now Liverpool manager, I wish him nothing but pain and misery while he works there, but on the same token I can't deny that I think he's a good manager and I'll openly admit to liking him a great deal when he was manager of Dortmund

Got to call a spade a spade at the end of the day

Obviously I think Koeman's record as a player speaks for itself, but Klopp winning the Bundesliga against such a powerful Bayern side is really impressive and I would never attempt to downplay it

I do enjoy Kopites getting agitated by this whole process though. If we win something before they do they'll positively explode, which would be immense

I work with them and they suffer from kopite-scale delusion. Spookily enough, Pompey were the same a few years ago - I got both barrels when they happened to beat us in a league game...but just smiled and waited for the expected to happen...which, naturally, it did.
Normality will soon be restored with regards to Southampton. Their ground, despite being new and shiny..is a basic bowl on an industrial estate. It holds much less than our own ground, despite it being over 100 years newer...ambitious?
They will again sell their best players in the summer(perhaps even to us) and perhaps this time they won't get away with it because their manager will have moved onto pastures new(again, perhaps even to us)
