Ronald Koeman

Ronald Koeman...good choice for us?

  • yes, he'll get us top 6 and stability

  • no, it's uninspiring even if top 6 is back on

  • josé on toast

Pensively? No. Anxiously
I can safely say he won't be anxious, why would he? The club are in talks to resolve the situation and his agent is no doubt keeping him informed. If he was sitting by the phone waiting it's far more likely to be pensively, as he'd be thinking about the challenges ahead.

Well he did come out moaning saying there wasn't enough quality being produced there.

He shouldn't have the same issue here.
Is that objectively the case though? How did our under 18s and under 21s do in their respective competitions. Sorry should know all this. We've heard a lot about prospects in the academy, but is their demonstrable success to back this up (cups? call ups to national squad etc). This is not challenging your statement, just looking for insight from posters who know these teams better than me.

I voted yes but I don't like the descriptions. I think he could do more than just stabilise us. I reckon he can crack the top 4 at a club where everyone isn't sold from under his nose and he has more to spend.
Agreed, exciting times ahead

At least now we can confirm that moyes will be nowhere near our club. It feels like we are finally in a position to compete at the very top. I have a lot of respect for what Moyes did for Everton, he gave us our self respect back for a while at least and provided us with some great moments too, there were a few horror shows granted, but overall I believe he did good solid job under the conditions he as operating in. The fact is though we have moved on and operating on a whole new level that's way above the capabilities of a moyes/Hughes /Howe etc. I've been going the match since 1985 and seen some unbelievable highs and unbearable lows, but for he first time in a long time I'm genuinely excited about the future of Everton football club. Bring it on, I'm sold

Even if he does only stay for 2 years, so long as he leaves us stronger is it really an issue?

If we have a DOF and Moshiri continues to invest money, losing the manager isn't the killer blow it once was

So long as he leaves the new manager a solid foundation, we benefit even if he does leave

He's got no personal ties to Everton. If Barcelona came in for him I'd fully expect him to take the job

It's like if I was a successful manager at a big top flight club and Everton came calling. I'd be there in an instant because I love Everton

He loves Barcelona, of course he'd go there if they asked him, and they won't ask him unless he's done well with us, so I don't personally see the issue

Apart from looking ridiculous, I'd say that would have to be the cheesiest, most cringeworthy thing a club could do to a supporter base to "welcome" a new Manager.

I remember flying to England for Walter Smith's first game and nearly falling out of my chair in cringe having to witness the bagpipe show.

Please be fake. Don't be so small time Everton.
