Ronald Koeman...good choice for us?

  • yes, he'll get us top 6 and stability

  • no, it's uninspiring even if top 6 is back on

It is likely that contracts have already been signed and the photographs taken showing RK holding the Everton shirt. They are waiting on clearance from Southampton .

Koeman probably has a good working knowledge of the Everton squad from playing against them and the preparation that went into that.
I am sure he has also been told about Stones and Lukaku situations and knows if they are staying or are likely to leave.

The thing that interests me most is which of the current staff at Everton is brought into the new management set up.
Unsworth, Ferguson , Sheedy must all be in consideration for a role.
I think that if the young kids in the academy are good enough they will make the breakthrough, but at the same time it would be good if somebody like Unsworth were included to make sure the academy youngsters are not overlooked which could happen with a new manager who has a big budget.

I get your point, but I was locked into the Everton rollercoaster long before Moshiri showed up. So it's probably fair to give an opinion on an internet forum centred around discussing Everton :)
Good answer. I also say "we", but I was really just pointing out that we are now in a position to splash the cash, so there's less need to be concerned about it. When I first became a Blue we were known as the 'Millionaires of Football'. It's nice to get back up there again after so many years of austerity.

He did the same holiday thing when he signed for Southampton. If we are getting a DOF its down to him to get the players anyway. Maybe he has one of those fandangled telephone apparatus thingies too!?
He disrupted his holiday to join us eventually - sure he will watch the Euros for new players or wait untill we might have a new DOF?

He's Catholic?
Just reading this post and the few above - can we leave religion out of it lads? I know it's been in jest but I'd like to nip it in the bud now. You'd be surprised at the level of sensitivity in some parts on this.

This isn't 1950 or modern day Glasgow, so religion has absolutely no place here.

Neither EFC nor LFC have a C/E or RC affinity, with both clubs coming out of a Methodist church. The fact St. Luke's is C/E in the corner of the ground is a complete co-incidence, as is the many Irish followers we gained in the 40's/50's.

In fact to assume all the Irish fans are Catholic could be seen as inflammatory in itself. And while there may have been a large number of Catholic fans, my family were in the Orange Lodge and all Evertonians from day 1 of the club almost.

Let's leave religion out of football. In fact, when presented with a quesionnaire that asks religion, write 'Evertonian'.

End of.

;)

Think the Dutch are unlikely to be CofE somehow. Next we'll be asking if he's been circumcised.

Anyway, there's only one confirmation we're interested in, it's tomorrow now isn't it...

Thats part of the interview process now.

The sealing of the deal is if he still has his cutting though......

jesus christ, sorry.

My excitement level is through the roof today lads. I am super duper excited for this season to start. I think this team will be revitalized with this new ownership and manager. Heck we might start to build some of that good ole chemistry we have heard so much about.
