But if the media give him good press in interviews and then cover up any proof of him acting dodgy, then they become his PR company. It's just not their job to cover up stories that will make them money in order to help the England team.

If Rooney's game will be effected by this, well then maybe he shouldn't have shagged a prostitue.

Its the timing though mate. This story is not about telling the people what they want to know, it's about messing up a leading footballers head in between 2 England games, so that they can continue the story of Rooney sledging for England.

Fair point.

I still put more blame on Rooney then the press, here. Just cos what he allegedly did is both stupid and dickish but you're right, the press are arseholes.

What Rooney does in his private life is in his private life. I don't believe any of this nonsense that the public have a right to know. They don't. What if Rooney come around to your house and started asking you what you did last night down Doggers Lane? You'd tell him to do one. For me it's the same. Rooney is a paid professional doing a job and that is the only element of his life that should be accessible to the public. Anything private, is private. When the press start harping on about how it's in the publics best interests all the time - it really grinds me.

For once I would like to pick up The Mirror and not read crap. Kerry Katona does this, Jordan does that, Day 37 Jade is nearly dead. You know what I mean? It's just disgusting, and they pass themselves off as impressive people.

Sure, I don't care about Rooney's private life, either. Though I hope theres some good chants at the game next week,

But, Wayne knows how the world works. If being reported acting like a [Poor language removed] throws off his game, then, as the most famous footballer in the country, maybe he shouldn't act like a [Poor language removed]. It's not like he's going to be surprised that anyone cared.
