AND READ THIS HYPOCRISY here from 2008:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/co...ayne-Rooney-out-to-end-his-Chelsea-blues.html
Rooney is determined to seize the chance presented here in Moscow. As a young Merseysider, Rooney grew up dreaming of playing in a European Cup final. "Yes, but Everton were never going to get there. Seeing Liverpool winning it a few years back [in 2005], it was a bit painful."
He joined United for moments like tonight, although his 2004 move was deemed a betrayal by Gwladys Street. "If they didn't understand then, I'm sure a lot of Everton fans will understand a bit more now. When I play at Goodison, I've no problem with the fans.
"Everywhere we go [with United] I always seem to get booed, getting off the coach, running on to the pitch, but there's no problem with that. I'm not really too interested if the opposing fans like me or don't like me, as long as my own fans like me."
Rooney seemed more relaxed, perhaps because of his pending nuptials. "My life off the pitch is probably the best it's ever been, eating the right foods, drinking the right things, and maybe not going out as much as I used to. As a young lad you go out and these things [scrapes] happen to most young lads. You learn from those things and thankfully it hasn't happened in the last few years." So when is the stag party? "After the England game [against Trinidad and Tobago on June 1]. If we can win the European Cup I'm sure it will make my wedding even better."

Well he's spot on mate. Everton were never going to get to the European Cup final. Wayne Rooney was too good for this club, end of story. If this club had not thought that they were arrogant enough to keep a talent like Rooney when we had the likes of Kilbane in the side, then they were sorely mistaken.
Truth hurts.
