Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

Was watching Chelsea v Arsenal tonight. Ross just been subbed off in 78th minute. To say he was anonymous would be a massive understatement. He looked like he didn't even want the ball. He hid all night long and just spent his time casually jogging about the centre circle. I purposely watched his movement. Never came looking for the ball at any stage, just hid and made sure he was surrounded by opposition players.

I would never take him back.
Funny, that. The Chelsea supporter I work with reckons he’s has a really good pre season and was decent tonight.

Bitter much?

We spent £45mill for that

I would.

He received groans off the fans and not boos. We let a lot slide - all of those promising attacks were he'd be bombing forward, only for the attack to fizzle out because he chose the wrong option. It got to the point were it became a bit of a joke. He didn't have the mentality to deal with the justified criticism.

If he had half a footballing brain and a backbone he'd be an amazing player.

He was the only player capable of getting us in to positions where he chose the wrong option. Since he left we haven’t got a single player who can carry the call through midfield.

I agree that to an extent we miss parts of his game with regards to moving forward, but on the other hand he had many deficiencies which we can't overlook.

These will continue to burden him at Chelsea I feel and ultimatly his career will dwindle for while he did have criticisms here, Chelsea will have much less patience.

This might be true but that's down to bad work from Walsh, besides he wouldn't stay so it's hard to say we're missing him, were missing his replacement

Bitter? Why do you say that? I watched him specifically to see how he's getting on and he just wasn't up to much. An aging Fabregas was doing all the work.

Also Chelsea fans are hardly great judges of character are they?

So you would have him back then? On talent basis, not his roots...

Would never have that rat back. Ever. Left on the cheap to line his own pockets.

Opinion of him and discussions around a possible return are all moot anyway. I think his imprudent 'liaisons' with that gangster lad's kopite ma has kind of cooked Roscoes Merseyside goose
