Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

You seem to think that there was real genuine desire to sign him for £35m and that they only came up with this alternate plan on the spot at the last minute... seems a little naive to me mate. These are massive clubs with smart people working behind the scenes, seems far more likely to me that Chelsea always intended for it to play out like this.
Yeah, when they saw the extent of his injury. Fair enough though if you believe otherwise.

Agree to disagree mate. He's a local lad who grew up with the club, I'd like to think he would've shown more respect for the club with this situation. I see your point but I can't agree with it in this case.

Indeed.

In matters like this my sympathies lie 100% with Everton and I don’t look for any mitigating circumstances as to why this player pulled the plug on a deal which cost our club £20 million or thereabouts.

Whether he did so at his agent’s behest or at Chelsea’s behest is of little consequence.

Becuase at some stage he would have had to give his assent and that puts the bugger beyond the Pale in my eyes.

If he dies, he dies.

He’s a textbook traitor, and therefore I wish him nothing but the worst.

Best wishes to the local monsters who him a visit, from what I’ve been told.

He’s a young man doing a job. He’s earning a living in a very short career.... I don’t blame him for wanting to maximise his earnings and set himself up financially for life. Look at it the other way... he badly broke his leg playing for Everton years ago... was anybody bothered then that his career could have ended ? Good luck to him I say...

with 6 months left 15m was better then nothing, as for chelsea essentially a free transfer.
He will easily fetch 30m in 2 or 3 years and they make his transfer fee and wages back.

he isnt a pace player, so they should get that fee, considering they were about to sign him for 35m a few months before

But there are two ways it can go really. He plays well and they don't want to sell or he keeps occupying the bench and making underwhelming appearances in the mickey mouse cups and see his value plummet.

His wages will be a stumbling block for any potential suitor.

not really he was about to leave for 35m with 1 year left, with 3 or 4 years left his value would have been close to 50m.
If he gets back into the england set up that will also increase his value. they will make there money back hence why they signed him.

He is on 90k a week at chelsea which isnt a lot
we have walcott, ramirez, bernard, siggurdson, scneiderlin get paid in excess of 100k a week

In a world where Keita goes for £50m, Fabinho for £40m and Fred for £50m then i guess £30m isn't outrageous, but they wouldn't sell...that's the point. Who wold buy him?

They'd only try to get rid if keeps putting in the average performances.

Some bitter people in this thread lol

Alot of time hating when could be spent doing something more postive

Dont forget lads he dosent even no you exist, so dont waste too much time hating

Ending of the day he left a crap team to move to a better one, bettering himself both professionally and financially. Everyone here would do the same.

He also isn’t that good of a player so I really don’t understand why people are still whining on about this.
