I don't begrudge him leaving.
I do begrudge him wanting us to pay for his rehab.
Meh. We move on. Everton and that.

Some vile rants on here. The lad has left. Yeah, the circumstances weren't great. But maybe, just maybe he was reconsidering before this season was truly messed up. I fail to see how the terms of his contract have improved by stuffing Everton out of 20m. You only get massive sign on fees when you're a free agent. Sucker punched by a scumbag in Liverpool city centre, playing for a club that has gone backwards in the past couple of seasons, scorned at by fans, career stalling....... Im not surprised. If he truly wanted to stuff Everton he d have gone for free.
If you think he hasn't increased his package as a direct result of not going in the Summer and going now you are extremely niaive.

There's more to this than we currently know... surely.

The truth will come out one day.

As the post the other day mentioned, we used to have some exciting young talent... such a shame it's not panned out.

Or..... just not jumping to conclusions with zero evidence.

At the last minute, player who is injured and unable to play "changes his mind" regarding a transfer. The net effect of this "change of heart" is that he transfers to the same club four months later and creates a 20 million pound windfall for his new club.

That's a whole lot of bargaining space for a sharp agent to find the player a piece of that windfall through a signing on fee, an increase in wages or some combination of the two. A player rated at Barkley's level isn't likely to have a doofus for an agent.

Yes, I never looked at it that way :(

Poor old Ross.....can't handke a bit of competition at Everton.

So why the heck is he going to a club with about six players vying for his position already....most of them better and more consistent than him.

Maybe he is joining as he felt like his boyhood club that he loves now hates him and he has decided why not got for the moeny

Congratulations Ross. Be careful what you wish for. This is likely the tipping point of a once promising career. When you are on the pitch at Oldham in a few seasons with a crowd of 4,000 booing you, reflect on what might have been. I look forward to seeing you fall.
