We had a Judas called Ross Barkley
A traitor who comes from wavertree
He stabbed us in the back for Chelsea
For splinters and a massive salary

'the no8 shirt means a lot to me yeno I was no8 at Everton
to get the no8 shirt means a lot pervious players ere yano like Lampard'

mentions one player lol

At least with Rooney it made sense. He had to move to progress. He was too good for us at the time and we weren't looking like competing financially anytime soon. With this scum it makes no sense. He's not even that great, just has a lot of "potential."

How does it not make sense? We're a bang average team and Chelsea are a good team.

Its a slow and steady evidence that after Mosh's investment, our board has mismanaged the club in the most appaling way.

We let Stones leave, replaced with Williams.
We sold Lukaku and didn't replace him until now with a gamble 27M signing. However, the damage was done in the 6 months.
We hyped up Koeman, then after a series of transfer blunders that led to an imbalanced squad, he was sacked.
We then had no clue who to get and let Unsy hung to dry as panic increased. Then we went to Allardyce. While our instant results picked up, anyone watching us as a neutral can see this club has gone backwards - whether its our style of play, quality of the squad or league position.

Barkley irrespective of his personal ambitions which he is entitled to saw the club turn into an utter mess within 1.5 years. He must have thought I need to get out of my comfort zone and take the risk. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. But staying here was doing nothing for his career and he had seen 4 managers in 4 years, two of our most promising talents sold and the club go backwards. All this when our board claimed to be ambitious, had a project to claim to the fans but things inside were an ugly mess.

We blame the player cos its easy and can call him a rat. But when you put in perspective the whole picture, it had a lot many ingredients which the board is responsible for.

A lot of vile stuff being said that I reckon a lot wouldn't say straight up to his face. ATEOTD it's a game, it's a short career, and Ross will just be another player.

He did receive a lot of abuse from our fans, but no more than our other players do.

Sod him.
By "abuse" do you mean people a tiny number of people occasionally yelling at him from the stands and groaning when he'd make a stupid mistake? The poor little lamb, I don't know how he copes with the fat bloke in the Park End shouting "turn Ross!" Or the little scally in the Gwladys Street screaming "ffs Barkley, get a grip you stupid idiot!". I'm sure the silly wages he was on must of softened the blow somewhat at least!
