Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

Barkley IS thick though. It's not because he's Scouse, and I'm not being bitter, I said this even when he played for us. He genuinely is not very bright. Good player, yes, but very slow-witted sometimes on the pitch.
He's not thick. If he was thick do you think a club like Chelsea would allow him to continually be interviewed?

I really don`t get why this thread is still open or are we going to have a thread now for every player who leaves us ???.

He plays for another club now, it`s time to move on.
Don't get the obsession some have with former players, or former managers either for that matter. When they leave Everton that's it for me. They are footnotes in our history and we move on as you say.

He is a good player and will probably do well at Chelsea for a couple of years but inevitably they will replace him as they are constantly bringing players in. What happens next will then define him he could stay and fight for his place or move to a lesser club. We'll see how it plays out. Not being coached was obviously a dig at Martinez and Moyes as much as Koeman as they had him in the years when you could have most influence. Part of me hopes he does well as ultimately it's a short career and can't blame him for looking after himself. On the other hand Everton were meant to be his club and so he should have shown a bit of loyalty.

Barkley benefiting from having quality players around him and not having the weight of the world on his shoulders. It's a shame he never had that most of the time he was here.

You can also look at the fact that he's been poorly managed throughout his career. His all round game should have been worked on but he was basically allowed to do whatever he wanted under Martinez.

I do wonder if Koeman hadn’t been here he may still be here.

I’ve probably slated him in the past but it’s only because I miss him.
He would.

Koeman's bizarrely personal priority while at Everton was to get Barkley out of the door. I think on reflection he just doesn't like midfielders to have that type of talent. He did well in the game by surging forward and getting goals, and he looks to me like he hated anyone getting plaudits for being a talent themselves at that.

He was a strange man. Completely motivated to degrading players. His insecurity issues must be terrible. Just an all round disgusting failure of a coach. Thank goodness he was binned for the imposter he was and is.

I was so excited to have a big international star like him as manager. What a bloody let down.

Set us back years...and we were already behind.
