Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

He's just playing his usual ultra deep role that he's played for pretty much the entire season under Sarri. His role is to pretty much just do the basic stuff and distribute, he's not expected to be some creative dynamo.

Just a bizarre way to use him really

Sarri is a bit odd

He hasn't given Loftus-Cheek much of a chance either, and he's played far better than a lot of the regulars when he's been given a chance. From what I've seen anyway

Should also be noted that Kovacic who was rated far higher than Barkley has been poor as well when playing the same role, it's just the nature of the role... no fun allowed, do the basics, give the ball to the wide guys and let them cause havoc.

It'll be difficult to pin this on the manager/coaching now Barkley himself has used that last card to nail his former employers with the coaching comment.

Young Ross (25) is taking his time catching up to Lampard and Gerrard who he was as good as when he was 23. Getting a kit that fits him properly could be a decent start.

It's not tactics it's him, Chelsea can't afford to have tactics based around such a limited player

Looks to me like Sarri has lost it, because he's crowbarred Ross into a role he's not suited, with the expected results

Despite that I don't think he's been too bad. Lots of other players haven't shone here either. Ross has done his best in a poor system

Ross should be in the front three with Loftus-Cheek playing the deeper role instead, but Sarri doesn't want to do that

Just my two pennies anyway, I know I'm on my own with this

Looks to me like Sarri has been cowed by the "star" players, so he's crowbarred Ross into a role he's not suited, with the expected results

Ross should be in the front three with Loftus-Cheek playing the deeper role instead, but Sarri doesn't want to do that because it means dropping one of the two who aren't Hazard, and he's not got the grapefruits for it

Just my two pennies anyway, I know I'm on my own with this

Don`t forget your coat on the way out ;)
