Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

i'd be surprised, He didnt play that much under Moyes, he had the odd game and was loaned out. I seem to have some recollection of him having a bad game against someone like Blackburn and Moyes not playing him again. He went out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds. His first real season was after Moyes left and Martinez came in. I think he has been linked by journalists.
Moyes did eventually back him but it took him ages to come round is my recollection - like you say remember him hooking Barkley off at half time away against Spurs when, tbf, he'd been having a bad game but he wasn't the only one. But then he did put him in against City (I think) and RB looked mustard and he started to get momentum from there.

Depending on what your view of Moyes is, he either demonstrably didn't trust Barkley, undermined his confidence, but was then was forced to play him when RB's talent could not be denied. Or, he worked with him in training for years to build his confidence and condition to play centre mid in the prem, finally giving him free rein when the time was right and not before.

I think if you look at the stats, he barely featured for Moyes, he played in 18 games from 2010 to 2013 totaling 650 minutes on the pitch (link to stats below). That doesn't mean that Moyes wouldn't take him now, as he is arguably a better player, but the links to Moyes just seem like lazy tabloid journalism to me. Villa were credited with an interest in him earlier this week. I think he would possibly be better going there than West Ham. He has been linked with Leeds as well. I think they play in a very disciplined system, not sure Ross could adapt to that quickly, it may take time

his dalliance with Bethany-Jo (the mum of some wannabe Merseyside gangsta) really flattened the trajectory of Roscoe's footballing career. A bright lad, his ill-advised tryst with a woman old enough to be his grandmother was wildly out of character. In fairness, I imagine in the dim light of a 4 am nightclub, she probably presented some sexual allure... and her wearing leather knickers (with 'an easy access zip' ...as the Daily Mail humorously referred to it) more than suggested her 'availability'.
Anyway, hindsight is what it is ...and us blokes are all guilty of, at some time, letting the desires of our smaller head overrule the objectivity of the wiser one sitting atop our shoulders.
And the gangsta fatwa issued as a consequence of Roscoe's and BJ's coupling was disproportionately severe (in my opinion). I recall back in the 80s being at Sinatra's nightclub, meeting a mum and her (18 yr old) daughter , and ending up at The Adelphi Hotel with both of them. As it turned out, my great mate, Phil O'Toole hijacked my threesome and ended up with the mum...best laid plans of mice and men I guess...lol.
Anyway, I digress...what thread am I in?...oh yes, Everton vs Crystal palace...difficult game to predict the result of this...I am liking the new Everton so plumping for a tight 1-0 win.

NSNO.
