He played in and won a Europa League Final. He also won the FA Cup. He spent time playing CL football. Ok, no he was never a key player in the Chelsea side, but let's not act like it was a bad career move for him. He's basically done Fabian Delph in reverse. Should Delph not have gone to City?
Yes, our club is now approaching a level to go places Villa won't be soon, but we aren't there yet, so let's keep ourselves in check.
It's nothing to do about keeping ourselves in check, I never mentioned anything about us approaching a level to go places, and I never said it was a bad career move for the lad, those things are all a fabrication of your own mind. I said that I thought the majority of Blues felt it would go pear-shaped for him at some point and indicated my surprise that the lad had gone to Villa.Personally, I see Barkleys' Aston Villa move a bit unfortunate and believe he's more talented than a lot of people give him credit for. Hopefully, it will be a good move for him.
Oh, and in answer to your 'Delph' question. No, he shouldn't have gone to Man City. But that's just my opinion based on what I read at the time about the situation concerning his move.
