Ross Barkley joins Chelsea, er, Villa on loan

It's amazing when a player leaves how **** he suddenly becomes and blessing that he actually left.
Same with lukaku, apparently it's great he left because of the fee that was received and apparently wasnt mobile enough here and went missing in some games.

Think its more about the players perceived feelings about the club. Rom was open in that he saw us a springboard, no probs with that myself. Ross, for reasons we may never know, seemingly ran a contract down to possibly maximise the cash for him and his agent, with apparently a more than decent offer from us.

Social media these days gives the airtime to allow fans to fume.

I think I saw him play once.

Then he got injured.

I have more respect for Lukaku because of that. At least he was honest. Barkley, on the other hand...yeah.

Wasn't there some rumours of him running into 'issues' with the local gangster element? Wasn't he caught cavorting with the mother of some dangerous hood?

There were plenty of rumours mate.

Think it was Bascombe, I think, who summed it all up pretty well. Moyes, Martinez, Koeman, Woy, Southgate, a collection of football managers with a wide breadth of experience and methods, all failed to get the lad playing in a way his talent would suggest he could.

None did, consistently. Maybe the problem is with the player.

Oh, add Conte to that list as well.

Or maybe once they are out of the blue bubble it becomes obvious that they were just average players overhyped by us fans?

I don't wish to sound rude about Ross, but did anyone else reckon that he didn't come across as the brightest candle in the candelabra. He always had a look on his boat akin to befuddlement. He ran well with the ball but appeared confused as to what to do next. As I said, it's just a personal observation, he might have a PhD in cosmology for all I know

Eh he could have always known that he wasn't really hot @#$# and cashed in while he had the chance. A lot of clubs are going to start ramping down spending soon.

I haven't really seen Besic play as he was always injured. But some very wise heads on this forum reckon he's absolutely world class and I guess we should defer to those wise heads' opinion
Best game he ever played was when he went off i jured and let inNaisnith for a hat trick...which was also the best game he ever played too.

Not bad going that, 2 world class performances in 1 game
