Probably. Once a rat, always a rat. When you are in a relegation fight, you need players that are going to give it their all no matter what, not someone who turns tail or abandons you at the first sign of trouble. Even if he had no history here it would be a disaster to bring in a player like him for this team. The entire reason we are in the situation we are is because of players who are lazy, quit, or just show up for paychecks and only put in some effort when things are going well. We are trying to get rid of those, not add to them.

I don't really care either. I do care that he has flopped since he left here and his career looks to be over at the top level. That's why the signing would annoy me a lot.

It really is just so confusing. We offered him a contract as our highest earner too, didn't we? Or was it the didn't match the highest earner and that was his issue?

But he's not gonna "walk into our side" like many are saying. He's barely played the last 3 years and when he has he hasn't been great.

And quite frankly, when he was with us he wasn't all that good either.

There's no footballing benefit to bringing him back

Couldn't care less Koeman forced him out and he wanted to go because he is a mad head, he was already on the wane too. I wouldn't be averse to bringing him back as a squad player if we are desperate as he still has skills we lack in terms of creativity, but I would want better obviously...
