Ross Barkley

Im sure if I looked I could find countless comments from Arteta telling us how happy he was at Everton and saying how much he loved the club, pretty sure he was saying it just days before his move to Arsenal.

Everton were happy to sell Arteta, because they needed the money.

Things are different now.

Didn't sell anyone this summer did we?

Nobody offered 50 million for one of our player's though.

And nobody has bid 50 million for Barkley yet, but if they did???

I'm really not seeing it here...times really are different now, we have a great manager and a wonderful place to improve and grow, why would he want to leave that to be at the mercy or whim of a egotistical manager?

If Eveton wanted to sell him in the summer they would of put the feelers out and let it been known that if a good offer comes in they would sell. Im sure that 50m would of been on the table if the club was willing to take it.

We dont have to sell anyone at the present time, unlike when Rooney went, keeping him wasnt an option sadly.

I don't care what people say, Ross IS different, you can just tell. He'll probably leave one day but it'll be due to astronomical fees luring us into selling, definitely not him wanting to leave us.

'But if they did???'

I don't think they would sell, because they remember the murder that selling Rooney caused, and also because of the hugely negative statement it would send out about Everton. All the noises from Everton at this time - the manager, the player, the board - all suggest Barkley isn't getting sold or going anywhere.

My opinion that we wouldn't sell him is based on all those facts.

There will be people that will take an overly cynical view and believe they would sell him. That's people's perogative.

At the end of the day you can only go on what the player himself says and does and he's made it perfectly clear he sees his future at Everton.

I take heart from the fact that we have the best left back in the contract who could easily have pushed for a move to Man Utd and didn't, instead signing a new contract at Everton. That shows that Everton's best players are willing to stay at the club and snub other richer teams.

Well it could be argued we could do with some money, what with a new stadia to be built and what not, but thats not why we sold Arteta, we sold him cos he wanted to leave and somebody offered us top, top dollar for a player whos best days were behind him, we didnt need the Lescott money either, but he wanted to leave and we got top dollar again, there WILL come a time when young Ross wants to leave and somebody WILL offer us top dollar and the only thing, IMO, thats going to stop that is progression of the football club off and on the pitch.

Lets see what happens and lets hope 10 years from now your vaulting us all and LOLing at our lack of faith.

I hope he catches Ebola so nobody will want him.
We should send him to Liberia for a week to get it, then sneakily send him to Melwood under the pretence that he wants a nice to the dirty reds. He should then proceed to sleep with all of their first team players in a mass orgy thus passing the disease on to them, then calmly make his way back to Finch Farm where we can give him the native American remedy for ebola which is Campbell's chicken soup, dayquil and Sprite.

I think the club will only let him go if Martinez feels..
A) He could bring in a few players to improve us with the money
B) We have another kid coming through who is as good ie Ledson

Ross is going nowhere fast and if and when that time comes ( which will come if we don't push for CL and winning trophies ) we will get premium dollar for the lad. Every player has a price and we would be no different when it came to someone throwing in astronomical bids in. In the meantime though there really is no need to stress.
