Ross Barkley

John Aldridge today wrote "Of course the biggest problem for the talented Ross Barkley is that he is at his most effective in the number ten role and he is likely to be competing against Raheem Sterling for that spot in his national team. From the evidence offered so far the best bet is on Sterling as he offers more to the team in the opposition final third. There's no disgrace in that but it means that Barkley won't be the best player in his position for his country and not even in his own city. I'm sure he has a big part to play in his career but at the moment all this hype won't be helping the lad."

loool. There's sixteen words there that Aldo's never even heard before.

However, I just read the following in a pull-out supplement in Nutz - an interview between Brendan Rodgers and Nigel Farage:

NF: Hate the darkies?

BR: Every last one.

NF: [giggles and dribbles] Me too!

BR: [giggles and dribbles]

NF: Hate that Barkley, too. Bitters scum Woodison 5TIMES LAD

BR: I have him in my envelopes. All my beautiful envelopes. You know he's Nigerian?

NF: AAARRGGGHH!

BR: i no, i no

how do you know he's not starting, teams not been announced has it ?

It has now, and it's the same lineup named on 5 live a few hours ago, so it looks like it was leaked.

Barkley left on the bench whilst Stewart Downing starts at the top of a midfield diamond.. can't say I'm disappointed he's not starting, I'd expect him to get at least half an hour as a sub.

NAISY NAISY NAISY NAISY

* says the Evertonian Englishman.

But also Ross is Boss!

Sitting on the fence. Naisy's fence. Eyeing Ross's abs.

.....thought Barkley looked a bit disinterested whilst out on the pitch last night. He probably knew he wasn't starting and none of his club teammates were around to keep him company.
