Never in a million yrs. He had Naismith and then Eto'o playing in his position. They kept getting in each others way.

James McCarthy needs a player playing alongside him who is box to box, has a high work rate, capable of closing down and tackling. Barkley will never be that player. Barkley is a 10 who should be given the freedom to run at players and shoot on sight, not one who is afraid of losing the ball.

Looks like he is carrying the weight of the everton world when we are losing, not helped by having a captain who couldn't motivate an alcoholic at a vodka factory

The confidence and team performance obviously affecting him, scared about making a mistake. Hes's young FFS.

And in all honesty was the only one who can pick up the ball and run at defences.

Doesn't help to played everywhere just to accomodate the scottish Pele

All night. Barkley only looked effective when he come in off his wing and was all but standing on Naismith. Play him in behind Lukaku. He is our most dangerous player and we are not utilising him. Continue to play Barkley wide and you will get the same result week in,week out.

That doesn't make him a #10.
