He's playing bog standardly in a poor team at the moment. Not sure what all the 'work rate' criticism is for, ok, he isn't chasing emptying that moves but that isn't his game and I'm sure that has come directly from RM, in the same vein he told him not to worry about losing possession when trying to make things happen etc.

He's getting some slamming from WBA match, but what else could he have done in a match where we passed it round for 90 mins then went home?

The more he plays the more he doesn't look like a natural number 10. Right now he just doesn't have that cutting edge in his locker.

All his best work comes from deep, it takes the pressure away of having to create chances each time he gets the ball. It is beyond me why Martinez having seen the QPR game has not started Barkley in centre mid once since.

On Colin Murrays show on Talksport, him and his guests talk about certain issues on a segment called " Starters for 3 " Colin spoke about Ipswich and Didi Hamann spoke about Barkley and the treatment from our so called fans.

It's rather sad when a former player of that lot stands up for one of our players against the criticism from his own fans. So called fans were tweeting the show saying he does not have the mental attitude for top level football.

He is a kid, give him time you bad beauts.

Doesn't seem to be working for McGeady, he has been doing lots of defensive work in the last few games yet everyone still seems to be moaning about him.

I can understand that Martinez doesn't expect Barkley to run and chase every ball, but it would do Barkley the world of good if he actually tried to go and win the ball back after giving it away.

Hes abit of a dope who plays with his head down, he needs to watch videos of paul scholes etc to look over both shoulders before receiving the ball. The amount of times he turns in to trouble or doesn't turn when there is space behind is ridiculous! We as fans seem to have to shout turn to let him know. The one from a throw in on Monday was laughable acres of space to turn into but because he isnt aware he knocks it straight back the thrower. A professional footballer should of learnt these skills already.

I was entitled to my opinion after travelling to Hull to watch that spineless performance.

True, but I feel like the crowd would be more inclined to act positively towards Barkley, rightly or wrongly
