Ross Barkley

Very harsh on Ross all this imo.

He's had to come back from being injured. Try to get up to speed quickly. Then played out of posistion game after game and all the while in a team Bang out of form, playing tactics nothing like what they did the year before!

I refuse to accept a time that a Scottish hard working limited footballer should be chose before a young talented local lad in a derby.

I'd also be fuming with my manager for what's he's done to my game this season!
Key words, thats what we need in the derby, as much as naismith is limited he gives 100% and steps up in these games

Most fans get on his back, it really winds me up. Some guy in front of me shouted to him telling him to take the players on, Ross went past two and got tackled by a third. The guy then shouted abuse at him.

Barkley needs a break out of the side. He is desperately lacking confidence. The Derby isn't the right match to start him back in yet. Maybe with 30 minutes to go he can be eased back in. But Naismith's tenacity is perfect for the Derby.

They will be the first to moan when he packs his bags and moves on too.

As well as being Sh!t and offering less money, with no chance of CL or titles or even cups....what we'll also do is throw abuse at him after a few bad games...make him feel special! Lol

But do win them mate?
This season no, last yes, regardless of win or not, naismith is always one of the better players in these games.

Its a straight fight between naismith and ross for the Number 10 slot and right now naismith is the better option, everyone knows Ross has 10x the ability but apart from looking lost in possession hes also been appalling outve possession which in this type of game we cant afford.

Bring him on for the last 20 and let him run off the tiring legs of gerard

......I don't want to hear excuses any more, his team needs him and he's been poor. Stones has come back from a lay off, Stones has come into a team playing poorly and low on confidence but he's come back and put in big performances. Barkley isn't a winger but that's not an excuse to not make a contribution. I've been really disappointed and really don't know what to make of the boy.

1 assist in the premier league in 2 seasons

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

He can do it by playing a bit part role, and doing that well. When you start you are under more pressure to perform, and he has been letting us down badly.
I don't know about that. When you come on as a sub you are coming on normally by yourself and for a while all the focus is on you plus how many times do we attributes wins or losses to substitute decisions.

At the end of the day. Football is a pressure sport and he needs to be able to deal with the pressure. The good thing about the derby is no-one is going to be focusing on him.

I still believe he's a quality player and he's had his break now and should understand what and why things weren't quite working before ready to come back.

btw - I think we'll see his form improve drastically with two proper wingers.

We also need quality on the ball. They won't get a second so their touch has to be perfect. Barkley's is much better than Naismith's.

Don't get me wrong he needs to work but there's more chance of Barkley realizing he has to put in the graft than Naismith learning to become a better footballer.

The crowd has been as much at fault this season as the players. Back when the booing happened we where ahead of Liverpool.

We might have had a slow start to the season but it really was un-called for although that said if it has forced Martinez to alter is philosophy long term it might in the end be for the best.
