We all love seeing academy graduates prospering , but we must accept that if they are not performing they cannot be played. They have to stay out of the team , work hard, get their form back, when a chance comes to get back into the team they must take it and make the most of it.
Barkley is no different , his progress has temporarily stalled, it is the next challenge or him in his career, it is part of the learning curve and in the long run will make him a better player, All young players tend to be a bit erratic in their development. But , no he should not be in the team just because he is Ross Barkley.

I see him as a deep lying midfielder the way mourihno plays fabregas, he is better when he is running with the ball from a distance he can hit them 40 yard balls he can smack them in from a distance he isn't a number 10 his assists back that up. We need a erikson coutihno type player it shows in the team everyone nos we never replaced arteta bevel with no osman or peinnar in the team this season we don't have that extra bit wich them 3 players have when it gets to the final third I don't think its barkleys game I hope he proves me wrong but his best moments are when he's running with the ball from deep

On the end of year stats he had 3 or 4 assists
Last years Derby im sure he won the header for mirallas
Also crystal palace think he got one
And he got one in the fa cup
But also I can remember a few great balls mirallas against City and palace where he missed kicked 8yards out
City also when he ran half the length of the pitch and set up Naismith and hart made a great save
And he got an assist in the cup game against QPR
