Think we would rely on Besic for our creativity if we played the three of them. It would be very defensive but it could work well, draw them out and open up space for one of Besic's pinpoint balls over the top to our forwards. There's certainly an argument for that formation but I hope Barkley plays. He's a local lad and could well be our Gerrard, playing in games like this could be the making of him plus I worry that we would be too defensive with those three.
For me Besic has earned his place in the game, it comes down to Barkley vs McCarthy. I'm not sure where Barkley's head is at, being an unused sub in a game that will hopefully be the cliche "turning point" of our season can't be good for his confidence. On the flip side, Martinez could have done that in part to motivate him to show up and play to his potential. I also don't know how far along McCarthy is in his recovery, and I think I remember him taking a few games to get up to speed after he was injured earlier this season.
Regardly, I would hope all 3 of Besic, Barkley, and McCarthy be involved at some point in the game, and I hope whomever is left out won't feel too bad about having to make an impact off of the bench.
