And I fear Martinez might try and shoe-horn both Barkley and Naismith in the same side. And the only way that would work is playing 4-3-3 with Lukaku on the right, which I'd rather not do.

Barry Besic and McCarthy will all start along with Lennon, Barkley does not deserve a place.
 
Not been Ross's finest season to date.Missed the start with that injury , apart from glimpses of magic he has struggled.
Whilst trying to get back up to speed Roy Hodgson absolutly lambasted him for a mistake he made (sterling made error after error & nowt said)
I dont think Ross has ever recovered from that,his confidence looks shot to bits.Disgraceful from the England manager.
Do I think he should start tomorow ?....Bloody right I do ! Local lad agst the old enemy....could be just what he & us need. AV IT ROSS LAD.

There's certainly an argument for that formation but I hope Barkley plays. He's a local lad and could well be our Gerrard, playing in games like this could be the making of him plus I worry that we would be too defensive with those three.

I think Naismith has been equally woeful of late. Barkley should start behind Rom imo.
I think I am right in thinking that, although Ross has been given a chance in the middle on the odd occasion, he has pretty much alway been flanked by either Eto'o or Naismith, who don't widen the pitch and create space for him.
I reckon that Ross flanked by Kev and either Lennon or McGeady would work really well. I think we have to give him a chance to shime in a system that works. He is by far our most technically gifted player and has the potential to turn a good team into a great one. With all the will in the world, Naismith does not.

Hey ho ...lets just drop the lad into the reserves let him rot there.
How dare he suffer a loss of form .That'll teach him.
As a local lad this game means everything to him ask Baines Osman or Hibbo .
Same goes for Gerrard & Carragher on their side.
As I said could just be the game Ross bounces back,he starts for me.

The last goal we scored came from a Naismith cross, as for odd goal you seen his stats this season compared to Barkley?

Naismith has had bad games but so has every player we have this season, the whole side is having a bad game most weeks.

There are not any reserve teams, but letting him play in the under 21s and letting go to the internationals in the summer, would be better for him than playing badly in the seniors.
Thinking that just continue playing him, no matter how poor he plays, does him no favours at all.
False expectations that you have only put more pressure on him that his ability cannot match.
Keeping these expectation going will only add to his problems
