Until Barkley got hold of the ball in our half and tore 60 yards through their midfield and so gave them something to think about. Despite his recent form and his apparent puzzlement over what he should be doing whenever he's in possession he is still capable of doing just this and still very capable of winning the game for us.

ALWAYS start with your best! Which is barkley, watch that video if u need reminding. Ok he may be out of form at the mo, it may not work for him on any pitucular day...But THAT is when naismith is needed!! Ffs....

Hmmm I'm a little undecided. I think Liverpool will come flying out of the blocks so we need to be careful.

Then when they inevitably bring on sturridge we can bring on our attacking options:

Barkley could be a brilliant sub to bring on for Naismith in this against tired legs.

.....but he needs to be regularly good, not the odd brilliant performance followed by what we've been seeing for months. I'd certainly pick Naismith ahead of him. Picking Barkley will be a gamble and that shouldn't be the case with a player with his ability.

He is good though haha. Makes a lot of room for other players, does the work of 74 men, scores goals. Just not the best technically. When he does play crap he will still have run his heart out

But running his heart out is not enough when we lack creativity and when we often leave Lukaku marooned like Robinson Crusoe.

If Besic and Barry start then we need something to worry their midfield and defence and that should be Barkley.

However the best I am hoping from RM is that he takes off Naismith at 65 mins and brings on Barkley.
