He's utter mince

Rodwell Mk2

...I think he's very different to Rodwell. Barkley has everything needed to be special but he demonstrates it too infrequently. He needs to deliver on a regular basis, no excuses that he's young, no excuses that he's had a bad injury, no excuses that he's lost confidence, no excuses that he's in a team short on confidence. Top players deliver when their team most needs it, that time is now.

Stones, McCarthy and Besic perform every week, good players do not need excuses, his supporters, who I respect, manage to find one every game.
The one about the England manager is particularly ingenious, unfortunately for Ross I do not think, he will have to worry any more about him.

....what a player Stones is. Perhaps I'm deluded but I'm old, he's young and he's already the best CB I have seen at Everton.

What do you mean, that one good pass per game (usually in the first 5 minutes of him coming on/starting) isn't enough? Pft lad, it's just an unlucky season.

No you are not deluded, I have seen all the good central defenders, since the 1950s and he his potentially the best since Bobby Moore.

Wow. @Eggs knows he is one of the very very few posters I take notice of on players and that, but that validation is just brilliant.

He is no Ross Barkley though!

Maybe that might give him the biggest kick up the ass. I don't know if that's what he needs but right now nothing else is working.

btw - I think he was Ok but faded badly. Martinez was right to take him off although not right putting on Gibson.

Absolutely nothing he can do in this poor setup. There's no one in front of him, no one linking with him, no one wide for him.....we don't even break with speed anymore.

He'll be off being all boss for someone else soon enough and everyone will be crying into there cornflakes.

But never mind, we'll still have that annoyance that is naismith getting in people's way!
I hope he's picked for England. I want to see him in a half decent team. Thankfully Roy does have a tendency to stick with players once they're selected.

I mentioned in some previous thread that the only gloomy cloud (following our recent renaissance)remaining on the Everton horizon is Barkley's underwhelming performances. I was kind of hoping he might find inspiration from the displays we have seen from Naismith this season. I am not certain how often these two have played together but I recall on one or two occasions, them looking very much 'the dynamic duo' together (was it QPR?). I would love to see them play together again....make it happen Bobby!
