correctDrop freaking Naismith, play him at number 10, stick 2 wingers either side of him, 2 holding midfielders and tell him to take the piss.
He is a much better player than Albert Quixall ever was if he ever existed

The lad is in a bad moment of form but was boss against YB
It's roberto's fault tho. Bringing him off against Leicester was poor management. Players like him often have 1 moment of brilliance to win you a game, even if for 80 mins they have been average.
He's getting no real chance to play himself into form or build confidence. Basically play boss or your being hooked ross lad. Not ideal.
Moyes loaned him to Leeds.

This. Naismith is an average player yet seems to be first on the team sheet.Drop freaking Naismith, play him at number 10, stick 2 wingers either side of him, 2 holding midfielders and tell him to take the piss.
Agree to an extent, but it is also about balance - he should not be starting against the likes of Leicester, where we need creativity + speed to break down blanket defences (yes, i know he scored), but against City he was superb, due to his energy. Until we raise the overall quality of the team, he still has a role to playThis. Naismith is an average player yet seems to be first on the team sheet.
I'm absolutely fed up with us seemingly always having to put up with these workhorse type players in our starting eleven, whilst better players remain on the bench/get substituted.

Actually I think what Roberto is trying to say to him is "Put some effort in or you're being hooked".It's roberto's fault tho. Bringing him off against Leicester was poor management. Players like him often have 1 moment of brilliance to win you a game, even if for 80 mins they have been average.

Can we nail this myth. The crowd, any crowd, will groan whenever mistakes are made, and whoever is making them. Any player making lots of mistakes will generate lots of groans. Ross makes lots of mistakes. He is certainly NOT getting booed and all Blues are willing him to get his full game together. We are as frustrated as he no doubt is himself over his underperforming.Actually I think what Roberto is trying to say to him is "Put some effort in or you're being hooked".
As for creating that moment of magic. The equalizing goal came from Atsu's cross and the first goal was scored by Naismith. All players are capable of producing a "moment of magic". It's also important what he does the rest of the time. He's far too static. He should look at how that Barca midfield and attack played last night, constantly moving, constantly showing for the ball, constantly having a picture in their head of who they want to pass to before they receive it instead of passing back to the same player it came from. He's an attacking player who's responsibility is to be the conduit for all our attacks to go through and this season he's playing far too safe.
I'm not sure if it's simply a case that his footballing intelligence doesn't match his ability, fear or lack of effort. I suspect a bit of all three but he needs extra time and work on the training ground to get it right.
However what he doesn't need is the fans getting on his back.

Pretty much said this a few pages ago. I think he'll come good though. This is spot on. Read in Alan Balls book that he always knew what to do before receiving the ball, knew where opponents and teammates were and his touch and body position bought him that extra split second.
Too often Barkley seems to receive the ball with his body closed to the play and seemingly has already made his mind up to pass the ball straight back to where it's come from. I don't think (and hope) it's not a talent issue and more of a mental one but he needs to take mush more responsibility that he is currently.
