Ross Barkley

It's fairly typical for young players to dip after their initial breakthrough period and he suffered a severe injury early season.

You can see in the odd move that he has quality, we've just not seen it on a 90 minute basis this season.

I'd take him out the fold for a bit and let him get everything together.

I can't help but feel for Barkley here, he's playing out of position in front of fans that are giving him an unholy amount of flack for under-performing.

Raw talent like his doesn't come around often, and I do get the feeling that he has exactly the right attitude to nurture his undeniably massive potential.

A lot of people forget that he's only 21. I'm 21 and I can barely tie my shoe laces correctly.

Give him time, support and trust and he will come good.

At least Naismith puts a shift in and scores goals. Don't see Barkley doing anything like that this season. Anyway why would we have to get someone like that
i pay my money to be entertained, or at least to think that there is hope. Sorry, but Naismith, does't give me that, but Ross does. I dream of getting back to the the top, and selling your best players doesn't get you there

Phil Neville claimed he could become Europe best midfielder before, to put it in perspective, Isco is 22, and he's been Madrid's best player this year. He's twice as good as Barkley will ever be, overhyped by his manager and his fans because he scored the occasional wonder goal. You can only feel sorry for him, the pressure he's under is a joke.

I agree with what you say but Barkley has no way been entertaining to watch this season. I want a skilful player as well but I also want a player who plays for the shirt and puts a shift in, which he doesn't do at all for me!

He's lacking confidence, has a unwarranted amount of pressure on him, fans expect him to pick the ball up on the half way line and dribble the ball into the net every time he gets the ball, if he doesn't he get's boos.

I honestly believe he's just struggling to cope with the pressure at the moment he's 21 and looks lost. His talent is there people need to get off his back because if they don't he'll go backwards and fade into oblivion.

He is lacking confidence but that doesn't stop him from working hard on the pitch. Far too many times he is just strolling around the pitch and when he loses the ball he doesn't try hard enough to get it back for the team. That's my main problem with him this season. Nothing to do with him trying to go forward but then losing the ball.

Yeah, fair enough, he just looks like a rabbit in the headlights at the minute to me, totally unsure of himself. Maybe he's psychologically just not right after his injuries.

For a 21 year old he's had some fairly serious long term injuries, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that it's effecting him not wanting to tackle.

even this season, which he has struggled, i have seen more from Ross than Nais, but it is his potential to be one of the best. He's 21, missed the best part of 2 years through injury, and we want him to win games along with Stones and Lukaku. It is the quality of the players alongside them we need to look at if we want to move forward

You could be right mate. I hope he comes good as when he plays well he is class and just what we need.

Bxllocks
Just support one of the best young players we have rather than trying to be clever

Clever? It's a fact mate. He's had heaps of pressure on him and it's proven to be his downfall, and the pressure isn't necessarily deserved.

Get a life
Madrid's best player?
Twice as good?
Not sure how you have measured this but as an evertonian am only interested as how we play
