From "An over hyped out of his depth average footballer" to the "the best player of his generation" haha. Got to love this forum.

I suspect his ability lies in the vast chasm between those two extremes. I hope this crisis of confidence he's suffering doesn't do long-term damage though, that's my concern.

This is true. The lad has had his confidence hit. He was awful yesterday really, a shadow of the player last season, yet he still produced one or two quality moments (the cross for Lukaku).

Arsenal are a very good team. They have top quality defenders and midfield players. With Ross being out of form it will be a hard game. He is out of form, but he hasn't become a bad player overnight.

I'm refusing to judge Ross when Martinez is in charge the way the team is currently playing. Unless you're a hardworking crab every player looks a shadow of their former selves. The best fullbacks in the league look absolutely hopeless. A striker who had everything when he joined Everton, pace power, hold up play, link up play, now has virtually nothing and Mirallas looks like he will never score ever again in the league. For me Ross has shown his talent, running the length of the pitch v Newcastle, goal against City, goal against QPR, performances in Europe. He's clearly got the talent, Martinez is just strangling him in this rigid team. Martinez would have had a young Rooney playing on the wing instructing him to pass backwards all of the time, to a midfield that will never pass forwards. A manager who puts Ross in the midfield two would see that he has everything to his game. He could be our Yaya Toure but I doubt we'll see it with Martinez here.

He looks burnt out, down on confidence and incredibly nervous. As a result he's playing like rubbish. He needs a break badly, I imagine a summer off will do him good and he'll respond next season.

i pay my money to be entertained, or at least to think that there is hope. Sorry, but Naismith, does't give me that, but Ross does. I dream of getting back to the the top, and selling your best players doesn't get you there
Yes the same entertainment as watching Coco the Clown

It was them that bigged him up in the first place.

He also cost '0' so I dont expect too much.

But he did not play well yesterday, probably best we hang him.
