Completly disagree, he'll never be top class in the final third, hes not got the brain or speed of thought for it, not creative enough. His positioning is awful constantly in the way of things, hes lazy off the ball and doesnt press his nearest man.
We need to look at trying to turn him into a Ballack, someone who plays deep but can charge forward with the ball, thats one of the things hes actually good at, its just how we fit him in there because hes prone to switching off so you almost have to play 2 DMs with him in there as security
But there lies the problem not quite good enough as a number 10 like we need, but not responsible enough deeper. So between a rock and a hard place.my point exactly, a player like this can never be trusted in a 2 DM formation it requires the CB on that side and the FB to do extra and also a large amount of responsibility on the DM next to him, even Matic who for me is one of the best DMs in world football needs another solid player next to him for the bigger games. It all irrelevant anyway as its all a matter of opinions and everyone views football differently but except for that i agree with you on him never being world class in the final 3rd just imo its the lesser of 2 evils and allows him to play more on his instinct instead of like you said having to rely on his brain and thought process when on the ball
I actually felt sorry for Ross today.
Yes, he made some bad errors, but he looked a broken forlorn figure after one of them. His self confidence must be shot to bits, so the end of the season couldn't have come at a better time for the boy.
I for one hope he re-discovers the Ross most us know is in him and comes out next season fresh, confident and ready to take games by the scruff of the neck and dominate.
He's crap
Would snatch someones hand off for 20m
Shakes head in disbelief
20m to spend on midfielders who can actually contribute to attacking moves
