There's no getting away from the fact that Ross didn't kick on this last season past. Is that down to a lack of ability? Just a bit of 2nd season syndrome? Or down to poor management?

Given the fact 90% of our first team were equally as average last season I think it's very harsh to judge him or single him out as having a bad season.

As for England..he changed the game vs Italy and against Ireland he tried 3 very unlucky defence splitting passes in 20 mins (only player in the whole game coming close to creating something). Should of done better with a couple of shots, and looked better on the ball than anyone else on the pitch.

Most the pundits all think he should be starting some games. Taking Everton form and the possible reasons for that out of equasion..... When your alternative's are Wiltshire, Henderson, Milner, Delph (ffs) Mason etc...I think they have a point.

Martinez gave him plenty of options and didn't coach him to blaze it into row z, miss 5 yard passes and look totally disinterested.

I think he prob just needs to concentrate, keep focused and play his game that's all, he obviously has the potential. He's still young and is prob being distracted by a whole lot of things from Bitshes to cars and going out, stuff that can easily take that edge off his game and has destroyed so many before him.

You been reading Neil Ashton in the Mail? He came out in the Saturday edition with the very strange comment that Baines was being phased out of the international side. Where on earth did that come from?

I'll be honest mate, I don't even know who he is.

Baines is obviously the best LB England have to win games now, but we need to be looking ahead.

Cole?? Ashley who has not played for England for nigh on two years?? Henderson has played well for Liverpool, I can't say Ross has played well for us. He does not deserve to start for us never mind England. Kane until the back end of November was not a regular starter for Spurs, he will be a regular for England now but it's right for him to play with the under 21's because he wants to and he played the qualifiers. Miller rarely starts and Walcott is just returning from long term injury and not played much this season. Clyne will start tomorrow at right back, Jones is not a right back.

Was giving examples, either in the past or now.

Also, oh look, Jones is playing at RB for England ahead of numerous players who actually play in that position.

Maybe not, but he did play him for long spells out of posistion, drop him everytime he put in a good performance and play him in the same team as ettoo and Naismith who were both trying to occupy the same spaces.

Oh yeah Ross Barkley, the only player who ever miss-places a pass. Did you ignore the other 15 or so squad players doing the same thing all season!

Can we not all admit he was largely crap last season? But as a young Blue we'll all have our fingers crossed for next?

He's what, 21. Wilshere is nearly 3 years older than him and is still being hailed as our next big hope. When he's 30 we can talk about failed potential.

He still has the potential to be brilliant. I just cant believe someone at the club isnt working with him every day on how to shoot. He gets in some great positions but 9/10 we know where the ball is going to end up and it aint in the goal. Think he is always looking for that Man City worldy type of goal

Don't think he should have gone with the under 21s, went to the World Cup last year, will be going to the euro's next year, that would be nearly four years non stop. He needs a good rest, not just physically but mentally as well, then a good preseason and I think we'll see a better player next year.

I don't think its a shoe in that he'll go to the Euros. Depends on his form in the coming season. Last season he did not look good enough and he's hanging in the England squad on rep only.

He's not the only England player who had a poor season last year
But he seems the one that constantly gets targeted with that brush

Lallana poor for lfc was poor against Ireland and yet still gets in ahead of ross and has had more game time for England to

Ok so he came on the other day and played well and helped England back into the match

Townsend can't get into the Spurs team

Wiltshire & Walcott aren't regulars for arsenal

Delpth had a good game in the cup semi but a poor season IMO and this is a lad who's had 4 maybe 5 full seasons in the prem his last 4/5 England games he has been shocking
Giving the ball away all the time and under no pressure

Yet hodgson says [Poor language removed] all but just picks him for the next game

Even Henderson has been bang average for England
And this in nothing to do with him playing for lfc

He's been a regular for for 2yrs and I can't remember one great performance he's a 6/10 every game and was probably a 5 at the weekend in the 1st half

The thing is this has been going on for England as long as I can remember
6/7 players knowing they will be in the next team no matter how they perform
