Ross Barkley

Does anyone know of any 18 year olds who have tore it up from central midfield in the EPL after a serious serious injury, or even without injury. Even Gerrard wasnt in RS team week in week out at 20 yet we expect Barkley to be dominating, Check RS starting team for the McAllister Derby, he was on the bench. I cant think of many I'll give you Fabregas, but I cant think of many more, IMO it is easier for wingers and strikers than it is for defenders especially CB and CM's

Moist is never wrong mate.

Osman is a better option at the moment, which is quite scary.

Probably true. Though Osman, despite being a lightweight who sometimes goes missing is defo underrated by lots of Blues. Without doubt he'll be anon in the derby ..... or score the winner.

Osman just keeps trucking along, I change my mind about Osman and Hibbert most months, im very kneejerk when it comes to those boys.

Very good point actually.

Osman's OK. More Europa League rather than Champions League though. Give Barkley a couple of years and he could be a CL player though. Hibbert is Hibbert. What you see is what you get. If we could get Coleman to defend like an in form Hibbert I'd be more than happy.

Thing with Osman is he's never been gash. He's always been a talented ball player with a good football brain.

Unfortunatly he's too lightweight like his brother and not dominating enough. And played on the wing.

If he'd have been a bit stronger and more imposing, and not played on the wing he'd have been a top quality player.

but how many apperiances had gerrard made by then? i'm guessing meny more than barkley and also footy was about before the EPL so if you look back im sure you will find a few! maybe gazza, keane, cole for starters!

i personally dont think the lad is ready(and is no where near gerrard at this age) and is better of getting used to competitive mens footy at sheff wends!

just thought i'd say like! :)

City when he popped up with a kamikaze header to win the game.
Just saying.

He also tore Wolves a new one when allowed to play attacking mid behind Beckford two seasons ago. Then last season at home to Swansea he was brilliant. Osman not being great behind the striker is a pointless argument because everytime he's allowed to play there he proves he is.

I disagree, and so does Moyes by the looks of things. Otherwise he would have played there a lot more than he has.

In my opinion he doesn't have the pace, height, strength, movement or shooting ability to offer enough attacking threat in that position.

I'd probably agree with this although there's no doubting he's had some good games in that posistion over the years.

If osman had been playing ACM instead of Fellaini this year how would we have faired?? IMO no where near as well...
If you look at the players playing that posistion for various rival teams ossie doesn't compare and offers very little attribute wise as his competitor's do.

Bit of a myth that ACM is his best posistion IMO.

Another 90 minutes for Barkley, another Sheff Wed defeat tonight.

Blackburn 1-0 Sheff Wed. Dave Jones will get the sack soon, Mandaric will panic with them stuck in the bottom 3.
