Maybe he's not better than the guys who do play right now? I don't know. I'd love to see him get a run, but I'm not going to suggest I know more about it than Moyes. I'm sure he'll play though.

I'd consider that. Everyone keeps telling me Naismith is out of position, so might as well put someone else out there who's out of position who might contribute more. This is not to hate on Naismith (still in the "meh" category for me, but not hated), but to hope that Barkley might turn into what everyone on here wants him to be. It's been an eternity since I've even seen him. Starting to think he's a mirage.
 
I wouldn't mind playing him at right midfield in Naismith's spot if Mirallas isn't back, just to give him a run around and get some much needed game time.

This is the dissapointing one for me. Against arsenal and city in tight games I can understand moyes not throwing him on at this stage but Norwich..when were 1-0 up at home and tiring. Was a bad call IMO.

Is it not a bit worrying that moyes really doesn't trust using him?? I mean the lads 18 nearly 19 now. When u think of the football others his age have under there belts.
 

Has moyes actually brought a young player through into a full time established 1st team player , Rooney was a one of and did well to get away from moyes Imo , probably would of ruined him

edit - Osman , thought he came through the smith ranks as did hibbert

So one then , wont hold my breath on the next , feel sorry in general for the younger players under moyes`s guidance

You can hardly blame moyes for rooney's brilliance and rodwell's failures.

Tbf there's not too many that have come through England that would demand a place in our first team.

From the day Rodwell come through to the day he left I don't think moyes knew what position to play him. I don't think this helped his development.

We seem to be looking out or a goalkeeper at the moment and there's and England keeper there who was never even given a look in whilst he was here.

Again tbf he's been away made his mistakes and had a good run for a few years. There was no way he could of replaced Howard at the time.

GK is a very tricky one to comment on because they rarely get a chance covering injuries ect

Hart was rejected by utd !!

Little bits I've read here and there have lead me to believe that Moyes didn't actually really rate him that highly, at least towards the end of his time here.

I always wanted him to do well but can you name 5 good performances from him? Because I can't. Man U game aside he never really did much. He was doing okay next to Fellaini in CM before his injury last season but I would take Gibson over him every single day of the week.
 
Think he was better off on loan at least he was getting games. He isn't going to start for us as a CM, there are too many players ahead of him. His only chance is RM but it seems there are plenty ahead of him for that slot too.
