Ross Barkley

This is all getting very premenstrual isn't it? He's got bags of potential. He's still a kid. The team are winning. Calm down.

I read above someone saying how he controlled the midfield and was by far the best player against QPR, well he cant have controlled it that much can he? we got beat and didnt play to well from what i remember, so how is that controlling a game?

It was a terrible game, I remember it most for thinking on the way home that Beckford had the worst touch of any striker I'd ever seen in an Everton shirt, even the likes of Barlow and Angel had more ball control.
I think Barkley played left midfield didn't he? had a good shot and some nice cross field passes. But we lost to a QPR team that was basically the championship team that had come up, Patrick Agyeman, Tommy Johnson, Danny ****tu etc..

Pretty much. Rodwell started right wing, it was a disaster.

Everton manager David Moyes:

"Ross [Barkley] should be proud of the way he played today, the way he took responsibility on the ball. He was terrific. He was the one who looked likeliest to craft a chance today."

I was at the game and you'd have to be mad not to see his potential. I also see absolutely nothing to suggest it's been p*ssed away over the last two seasons either - he just hasn't had the chance.

When are people allowed to have negative opinions, though?

If we win it's unbelievable that people are moaning when we win, if we lose it's kneejerking over a bad result.

That is very true, kind of defeats the purpose of a forum if you cant give your own opinion, be it negative or positive...

much better than him rotting on our bench

go there lad, bang a few, get the loan extended and come back in april when we're down to the bare bones and drag us to 4th (and also to the cup final)

I hope this means we're bringing someone in. I know he was never going to play anyway, but it's still one man less in a tiny squad.

M main problem here is that most of the complaints centred around Barkley not playing in a match that we won with ease. It's fine to complain that you think he should play more but to use the cup game as a point of reference in teh argument comes across as knee jerk
