Maths must not be your strong point. Lampard would have been 19 years old at the start of the 1997-1998 season.

And even if he was 18, who gives a flying f*** ? Being a few months behind in development means absolutely naff all, especially when the players are born at different times of the year.

Wilshere would have been 18 years and 7 months when he made his proper impact on the Arsenal team, and he didn't suffer a double leg break either.

Barkley has also had a broken leg, therefore missing a year of development. You'd expect him to be behind the likes of Lampard in terms of progress.

Lampard also broke his leg and at the same age had played 1 more game.

He had his first proper season for United aged 20. But Ross is playing Championship football aged 19 so he's clearly gunna be an average player at best.
