Ross Barkley

Leeds are getting desperate in the push for the Playoffs, Warnock is not too disimilar to Moyes in that they prefer trusted old heads when pushing on late in the calendar. Barkley just doesn't have that experience yet.

Can only assume we didn't want to send him back to Sheff Wed, because i can't believe they wouldn't have him back after such positive reviews (unless loan rules forbade it?)

Not the best news for the lad, he's probably more pissed than anyone.

What's Moyes done?

Allowed him to build his confidence up at Sheff Wed then killed it off bringing him back and benching him, allowing some real gash to get game time before him, then sent him to a different club on a months loan, so that Leeds have no clue whether he will be part of their run in or not, and are quite rightly wary of putting him in a position of importance if their gonna lose him in a few weeks, and what for? Incase we have a few injuries, like he'd play anyway.

One of our most well respected ITK's bluefox has testified to how the kid has been sent backwards under Moyes, He's handled him dreadfully for two seasons now.

I think we need to send him out on loan for a full season where he can play every week, i think tranmere would be ideal next season if they come up

In hindsight, Moyes really should have just left him at Sheff Wed for the rest of this season. He was playing week in week out, he got on well with Dave Jones, and he scored some goals for them.

I can't for the life of me work out why he brought him back. I don't buy the 'short on numbers' argument, because even when he was on the bench for us, he was never likely to really get a chance, as there was always someone else more likely to come on as sub than him. Back out on loan to Leeds always seemed an odd choice, coupled with the weird length of loan.

Either send him out somewhere for the rest of the season, or bring him back and properly give him a chance, as in a 10+ run of games in the first team, like we did with Rodwell. Moyes seems so terrified of giving the lad a chance in case he messes up and costs us a game, which is funny in itself given the number of times certain 1st team player(s) have cost us games of late.

"We'll have to wait and see, not just on Ross but on our targets as well that we are trying to bring in. We are still trying to get a wide player.

From Warnock..... This says to me Warnock brought him in to play wide, found out he isnt really a wide man and is looking to find someone else to do that job. He was never sent there to play as a central midfielder.

Oh yes. But he just wont let the boy play!

Everything I read when he was at Sheffield said he was a decent player that was too good for them, but he was a luxury player they couldn't afford as they needed dogs of war, whereas he kept losing the ball taking long shots or trying too difficult a pass.
Not sure why that would help us in our bid for 4th to be honest.

Sniggers at this!

You didnt read the Sheff Wed fans on here then? Thats certainly not the impression they gave.

Most of the Wednesday fans appeared to love him; loads tweeting him to come back when his loan expired. He won the Sheff Weds Player of the Month award for October during his loan spell there. Dave Jones thought he was great and wanted him to stay. Certainly his Wednesday loan was a damn sight more productive to his development than the Leeds loan has been.

Guess their forums I signed up to are as down on their squad as ours then. Most of the posts I read were that he was good but not what they needed as when he gave the ball away, their really poor team struggled to get it back again.
Meanwhile when he didn't lose it he was pretty good.
This is their view on potentially getting him back.

And whilst he was there:

Fair enough, you only have to look at EFC forums to see how diverse opinions can be.

The fact he won the official Sheff Weds Player of the Month award (voted for by their fans) would seem to indicate the majority rated him.

Not wrong. Anyone would think there were two Moyes's just going by this place.

I'd second Tranmere as well, i'm sure Wallace would put a good word in for him and look out for him.

If they took Baxter off us, i'm sure they'd accomodate Barkley... you'd hope :D
