Ross Barkley

The bit that baffles me is how Barkley can't get a game over Naismith.

Naismith has to be the most talentless player in a blue shirt I've seen in a while. While I commend his effort for us, he's just a poor poor player. I can't think of any player that I'd not pick ahead of him, even Gaye and that's saying something!

So for as long as Naismith gets games, then I'll be baffled as to why he won't play Barkley

Because they are at different stages of their careers, these are formative years for Ross and he needs to kick some of his bad habits. Thats why we arent dropping straight into the first team id imagine.

He shouldnt be playing at us. Leicester or someone.

He HAD ability, now he can barely move.

Point out to me what is so bad about him here:

Because what i saw was a perfectly good PL level performance. Comfortable with the ball, good passing range, some great crosses particularly in the first 30 seconds which should have led to a goal, and he actually shoots from outside the box.

He is not a bad player at all. Unfit, but not a bad player.

Regardless of his bad habits, name me one good attribute Naismith possesses? I'm not one to be down on players, quite the opposite, but Naismith really is a division 1 player. I don't think he's championship quality let alone premiership

I agree, he should play Hitz more. He's a quality player, and when fit is a good addition to our team. Moyes just doesn't squad rotate though, and prefers to play players out of position for some reason. While I"m a big Moyes fan, he does have glaring weaknesses as a manager, his lack of squad rotation being one.

The merits of Naismith are another issue mate. Naismith isnt keeping Ross out of the team, Moyes is keeping Ross out of the team in order to better him as a player. It may well be that Moyes believes he has progressed enough to feature later on this season, but before that, he wasnt ready to start games for us.

So you watched all his games for Sheffield this season ? I believe Moyes' opinion about how ready Barkley is is more valid than yours because he actually watches him in training.

If that's the case, his opinion of Hitz is more valid than yours too Brenan. And he clearly doesn't think Hitz is good enough to play. I'm being a bit light heartedly sarcastic here.

We're all entitled to an opinion, and Moyes isn't infallible. There's also an element of some people aren't as good in training as they are in a real situation, that's true in many sports and i'm sure it's true in football too.
