Ross Barkley

I wouldn't be so sure to be honest mate. Someone like Dalglish or Redknapp would. You need to bring these players through. Look at Gerrard at Liverpool. His first few appearances where similar to Ross's

Moyes got to comfy this season and thought he doesn't need to use any youth.

Or buy any players.

He'll never manage a Man U type team. One thing Ferguson does is blunt youth and phase older players out. Moyes plays them right up until they need their zimmer

I don't see any reason for him not to start instead of Osman based on the last five games. Moyes doesn't do change and risk very well though, in fact he's averse to them.

It will take an injury crisis. I remember when Mikel Arteta was marooned out on the right wing and he was playing defenders in the centre mid rather than Mikel. The his hand was forced against Spurs away (1-0 Toffees, Pienaar defelcted shot) and Mikel ran the show. The penny dropped and there he stayed.... I forsee the same with Barkley ever getting in the team...

Sadly this is how most players get a chance in Moyes team, he gets forced into it.

I really really want him to do well for us. It's painful to see one our most talented youngster wasting away in reserves. I don't care if people say his not ready and all.

I rather see him for last 20 mins developing his game in the premier league each game opposed to stuck in reserves playing a game every second week.

In the 2011/2012 season, he started the first couple of games and nothing! Biggest tease or what?

I wish we had more local/scouse youngsters coming through like Ross. See theres a determination and grit in a scouser that you don't get in other parts of the country.

Why is our youth system failing? Or why isn't it being used.

I think Barkley is going to be te closest we get to a Steven Gerrard for years. Yet he's getting treated like a Jay Spearing. It's not asif we're Chelsea or City with bucket loads of talent on the bench. Our bench is pretty dire tbh.

Treat this lad like he's wanted and I'm sure he'll be the best midfield talent we've brought through in decades. FFS Moyes

Agree with much of this. He's got a lot to learn but playing at the top level has got to be the best way to do that. I'm sure younger players such as Barkley can do a job for us in and around the first team.

I really hope his career doesn't stagnate.

Watching the amount of ball we were giving away at Norwich, often when the player was under no pressure, I got to think....Barkley, hooked off after giving away a penalty at Blackburn, castigated for one dangerously bad pass against Chelsea.............never to be seen again..................

If Moyes stays on, Barkley may as well start looking for another club. On the other hand, he could cut out his forward passing altogether, make every pass sideways or backwards so as to minimise the risk, and he might then get a look in. And as for that Green kid, did he realise that flicking the ball into the net from 15 yards with the back of his foot will have set his career back 2 or 3 years at Everton?....
