You don't have to take it seriously.

I'm passing on what I've been told. The forum is here for people to do that. It's his best mate, he's with him all the time, goes the game with him all the time. Probably tells him everything. Why wouldn't you take that seriously?

Fair enough, mate. From what I've seen tho', Barkley could learn a thing or two about how Vellios uses the ball.

Vellios has played more times than Barkley, does that make him better?

Why was/is Neville picked ahead of our better players?

Failing to see your point mate.

I like Vellios myself, I really do. I hope he makes it.

I hate how much pressure is put on Barkley from Evertonians. It seems to have died down a bit now, but especially last season and the beginning of this season, it's as if fans want him to jump into the starting XI and get us into the champions league by himself.

Vellios might end up being the next Van Persie and Barkley might be playing in league 2, its just one guy's opinion. Honestly based on the treatment of Duffy and Vellios I wouldn't be surprised if a few of the youngsters had an attitude problem, although they've shown only a fantastic attitude on the pitch.

Honestly out of the three Duffy, Vellios, and Barkley; I would say Barkley has the most to prove against those two. Duffy and Vellios have done more than just slot into the team but have actually made an impact on games, Barkley hasn't of yet.
It will be interesting to see if Barkley still has a good 'attitude' if he doesn't get increased game time next season.

Shown some nice touches today but gave the ball away a lot, trying too much to impress.

Don't think he's ready yet, a season long loan in the summer would help his development.

Out of position and isolated all game. When a ball was given to him on the touchline, he didn't have a clue what to do with it as two or three men crowded him out.

Spurs basically did a number on him - they identified it as an area of the pitch they could get joy from using a high degree of pressure and did so. It wasn't a bad performance, just an ineffective one.

heard a few people saying he had a poor game but i thought he did well today and yes he lost the ball a few times but so did every player? he was certainly no worse than Osman in that respect and personally i would of preferred him to stay on than Osman because he had the legs for it, ozzie was a goner after 70 minutes.

This basically.

All I found out today was that Barkley is definitely not a winger. Which isn't exactly news.

If he'd have had 20 starts under his belt for us and then played like he did today i'd be worried.

He's still young and hugely inexperienced. Of course he's not ready to slot in and be of the same standard as regular seasoned players, but to get there he needs to play games.

Either a proper loan where he plays in the Championship week in week out or stay here but actually gets used. Last couple of weeks have been ok although not the ideal games, they've been and gone since he made his debut.

He needs to play to be "ready" rather than sitting on his arse.

Absolute nonsense! Osman wasn't good but at least he was in the game.
Barkley looked like he'd never seen a football in his life. Future championship star right there.

A good season long loan is needed for him with regular first team football. Recall him if we REALLY need him. Sitting on the bench and playing when the pressure is on you isn't helping.

Osman played in his natural position after a decade of Premier League experience.

Barkley played out of position in his first start for about two years.
