Ross Barkley

I knew this would happen, i think a few others did as well.
Finally starts a game and gets ****ged after playing 51 minutes. Give him a break ffs. Still think he needs a FULL SEASON loan to a promotion chasing Championship side or a lower Premier League side ala Jack Wilshere and Tom Cleverley.

Absolute nonsense! Osman wasn't good but at least he was in the game.
Barkley looked like he'd never seen a football in his life. Future championship star right there.

Osman when moved to the left was the reason spurs had so much joy.

We can say he wa out of position there. But he was much worse than Barkley who I don't think is at all ready yet but that was a good opportunity for him to grab some top level experience away from home.

I think he'll be a top player in 2-3 years.

who r you lad don fuken howe
An Evertonian with an opinion about an Everton player, on an Everton forum.

The season long loan shout are spot on though, could make all the difference. That's what will give him his chance, not all this 'he should be playing more in the first team' crap! We are trying to do something with this season, not use it to give the young lads a bit of experience. That's what loans are for.

I think you're completely wrong tbh. At present he has a role in the squad. Still hasn't been played in his natural position. LM? RM? Never a winger for me.

He was out of position against Spurs and couldn't really get into the game. He wasn't as bad as people are making out, quite simply... if you wanna see what a CM can do, play him as a CM.

If you can't see what this lad has got in both raw talent and potential then quite honestly you shouldn't be watching football.
He's played a handfull of games for the first team, He gets a start today against a team who are up there challenging for a champions league place, they had a midfield which consisted of the likes of a very experienced and very good scott parker and a beast of a player in Dembele....Spurs were tireless and to be honest they battered us all over the field ....a very difficult game for anybody to stand out in let alone a young lad having his first start in ages and being played out of position.

Kurt, my dad watched him the other week.. Said some things he does reminded him of Gazza, yet some of the decisions he made were inexperience.
I admit I haven't seen that much of him, especially in the flesh, so I certainly take my dads opinion on a player over anyone else's.
I was surprised by his first touch today, in hindsight, it may have been poor due to him playing on the wing a bit, where the ball gets pinged at you quite a bit, rather than running onto it etc. especially with Everton.
I liked his running, and he tried to get the ball into dangerous areas..
I hope it's inexperience, and I hope he gets what he needs to succeed.

Barkley is class. Just needs a bit of of time to sharpen up gathering the ball in and maybe learning how to draw the foul in tight spots.

He'll be immense for us.

Read back, I agree with most of the points people make about him. I just don't think he should be in our first team yet.
So I suggest a year long loan could be the making of him, and I get the standard reply for all the t*ts on here... "OK mate", and people telling me I shouldn't be watching football.
Get a grip children.

You called him a 'future championship star' to be fair.

Ha! Yeah maybe I did :) That's the way I can see it going though. Anything could happen, he could well turn it on in the next few years, if so, that's magic for us and I'll be made up!
My main point was, I don't think he's ready for our first team yet. I don't want to risk our Europe chances just for the sake of one young player.
