Ross Barkley

When he tackles they stay tackled, thought he'd crocked a couple of their players. Could be a great player if Osman would just stand aside, tell Moyes he will still love him anyway, and get on the bench.

He played a couple of decent through balls which we rarely see. He hit a few good shots from the edge whcih we rarely see too. He made himself available and used it quite well. He's still a little bit slow with his decision making but that's down to what he's been doing the past few months.

Looked well worth carrying on with for a few more games.

He should have a lot of confidence after last night. Grew as the game progressed and was unlucky not to score. Glad moyes is actually giving him a chance. He could have started neville hitz or even heitinga last night and kept felli up but he gave Barkley a chance. Barkley needs to be involved for rest of season. It's clear he lacks game experience.

The key to his performance last night was playing in his natural position. Exactly like Coleman played out of position and people question his ability, played in his correct position he will flourish. I seriously believe we should be looking to build around Ross and see more of him during the run in.

Positionally he looked like a lost lamb but, give him the ball and he makes stuff happen.

The positioning will improve when he watches the game back with the boss.

There are aspects of his game that understandably need time to work on but he is deffo going to be a formidable force for the future. Very strong, decent strike on him and an apparent desire to play. Well in Ross.

Grew in to the game as it went on. Nice to see Moyes start him in his proper position (although I know he kept swapping them all around), shame he hasn’t played more there over the season.

He seems to offer us something that not many of our others players do in that position. He looks to shoot from outside the box which is almost unheard of at Everton, and he was looking to slot Anichebe in a few times with little through balls as well. It didn’t always come off and at times he was a yard slow in his mind, but it was a quick game against top opposition. Hopefully Moyes has seen what he can offer and will give him more of a chance in that position in other games.

Had a very good game yesterday; thought Jelavic would have profited more with some of the through balls he was playing as Anichebe seemed a bit of pace.

Barkley did his chances no harm, very good game; however, he his very much a confidence player (probably his age) because he started the game off fantastic, then there was a moment when he turned back into play and Carzola took the ball of him and that seemed to affect his play for about 20 minutes. Once he did something good again, and got a pat on the back, his head was up and he was looking decent.

Made up for the lad and hope he gets a start against Sunderland in the same position.

Patience required. I thought he was a bit wasteful in the first half, and looked a little out of his depth, but leaving Arteta for dead was absolutely brilliant, and he grew from there.

Thought for just a minute that his shot in the second half was going in, that'd have been bedlam.
