Its seem that Barkley may get a second run out on sat Martinez believes Barkley will now be determined to try and remain in the team ahead of Saturday’s visit of West Bromwich Albion. He added: “He’s desperate to keep his place. All he wants to do is stay in the team and keep enjoying his football. Thats what I want him to do.

He needs a run of games now and I think Martinez will give him that chance. He showed at Wigan he was prepared to give young players a chance if they were doing well. If Gibson is fit for Saturday, I'd bring him in for Osman and the rest unchanged. If Barkley is as good as claimed by people at the club, we can't afford to do anything other than play him every week. We needed a breakthrough on Saturday and he provided something special. How many others in our team could do that!

barkleys the future

barkley had a great game at the weekend he is defo a star in the making we need to keep these kind of lads for the future and not cash in on them like we may have done in the past
