Ross Barkley

I'll never, ever understand the people who say hype is unhelpful. The true superstars of the game respond to the hype positively - the Rodwell's and Jeffers of this word flounder under it. It's how you take the Messi's and Ronaldo's to the next level beyond the ordinary.

If there wasn't hype around Barkley, there'd be something very wrong.

Ross seems like the type of guy who loves the limelight on him for 90 minutes, just like Rooney did and still does, he wants to make it happen, to have the ball all the time, not because he's selfish, but because he knows his abilities and how he can make us win football games.

Get to know the name then. And that Barkley is an Evertonian

I daresay I've known the name longer than most Evertonians mate (y)

Really though?
From what ive seen Ross is FAR too good for U20 Internationals, which makes it more absurd as to why Pearce never chose the lad for the U21's. Going by what ive seen of Ross over the years and others in his age group, its really hard to name someone better than him.

If we're talking solely about English players then among those following English youth football there still is no consensus as to who is the better player out of Barkley and Morrison, or even Hughes, let alone Wilshere if we're using that loose an age range. In terms of international football there a quite a few that are well ahead, like Draxler, Isco etc.

To be fair I did only say some of the hype. Obviously you have to put a player under the spotlight to see how they respond, but some of the hyperbole that gets spewed in this country is ridiculous. I mean, people proclaiming that he will be the best player since Gascoigne need to have a word with themselves. You need to keep these players' feet on the ground so that they know how much work is still to be done, not hype them up so much they think they're already super stars.

Definitely partly because he thinks he's boss and he wants to look cool.

your right, we should drop him for a season if he misplaces a pass, then loan him to some yorkshire beaut who will play him on the wing, then bring him back, let him have a boss game and drop him for Osman, he will flourish under this treatment and will learn his place

When did this happen?

'I like a young player, a young English player,' said Mourinho. 'The market is closed but I asked a question to position myself to see where he was. We are speaking about a very young player but his price was like he has 50 caps when he had none.

'The price for English players is very high, the market is very difficult.'

Mail thinks it's Ross Barkley. Didn't see much of him, but heard he's very good with great potential. What you people think?

Wish teams like Chelsea would develop their own talent for a change and stop buying the next big thing.

Especially English talent, City are also just as bad.

Luke Shaw.
Cole has about 2yrs if that left in him.

would chelsea really see any point in buying barkley at this moment? seriously?

If Barkley and Lukaku continue to flourish this season the way they appear to have started, it would be staring Mourhino,or any other manager, that teaming them up next season would be a no brainer.

Bizarre straw man argument

Hes back on twitter.

@RBarkley20

People are already pestering him by saying 'DONT LEAVE, BECOME A CLUB LEGEND'. Couldn't be arsed with people saying that to me like
