Ross Barkley

Wow. Calm down people.

I'm not trying to sell him, I can just see Chelsea pointing out Ross as a potential Lampard replacement.

Rich teams will want good young players, and we tend to have a few of them.

But it never ends that way at Chelsea . Mourihno and roman love big international stars so if he was in the current Regime he would hardly see any game time. He's better of at city or arsenal if he's going to leave where they will give him the chance . He shouldn't leave though . Gerard's a prick but he talks sense when on about barkley . Barkley should enjoy a good 4-5 years with us and if he wants out then we could shift him for 40 plus million when he's in his peak

Bollocks they would. All but me then.

And me.

If I was good enough to play in the top flight I would rather play for Everton all my career and win nowt than play for any other team and win shedloads.

Even when Liverpool were sweeping all before them in the 70s and we were crap I always used to thank my dad for raising me to be an Evertonian rather than a Red.

As a aupporter, one has to love one's team beyond the winning of trophies.

Same.

Imagine walking out at Goodison every other week with 35,000 scousers screaming your name. I wouldn't be able to help myself, if I scored I'd just jump in to the Gwladys Street end and have a party with the fans.

Got to admit I'm sooo envious of Barkley. Even though I'm badly gash at football and even playing for a pub team was never on the cards really.

I think that's part of what makes having a home grown player so good, because we can all see a little bit of ourselves in him.

Doesn't mean we had to sell that summer, Rooney admitted he wanted to leave us and dreamt of playing for Man u for years, he was never one of us. We can just be glad we got some money for us and didn't leave us when he was 14/15 for man u. He all about the money and he still is now, he spat his dummy out a few times now at Man u, he only around 200k a week at man u and will sign a new contract if they will commit to another 5 years at 200k a week.

I think we had to sell, it was a strange summer to say the least. A new CEO who walked after 6 weeks, things were obviously not rosy at Goodison.

Arteta needed to be sold to appease the banks, the club will spin a similar story when Barkley is sold " we offered him the highest contract in Everton's history " or " he phoned me up crying "

I agree with you. But wont stop Chelsea offering for him.

Jose has form with paying big for English players.

Imagine walking out in CL final and lifting the prem trophy and 75k screaming your name. Im a big blue but money talks mate... If you got offered now 10k at Everton or 100k at united then you would go. Its the money mate which would make you

20k at Everton. I'd rather be 5k at Everton to be honest.

I get what you're saying but I'd rather be a Matt Le Tissier than a Wayne Rooney.

you say that now lad... thats what rooney probably said but when that money gets offered to you per week it would be really hard to turn down.

Everton can offer around the 75k mark so for now...why would he want more than that?

His next contract wont be worth anywhere near 75k anyway.

Imagine telling your son or grandson who's a massive blue that you chose to leave Everton for more money. How sickening would that be if he's looking at all your medals and wants to know why they have City or Chelsea on them rather than Everton. Barkley would be just a footnote in the history of Chelsea or United, he will never be adored as one of their own. He has the opportunity here to go down with any of the greats who have played for us.

Do you think it bothers Le Tissier that he never won any titles? He's revered as a god at Southampton and the entire footballing community respects him for staying. They all know how good a player he was, the same with Shearer at Newcastle. They are engraved upon the national conscience precisely because they didn't jump ship to one of the fashionable big clubs. There's a whole host of players with premier league and champions league medals who didn't deserve them, do they really make up for the adulationt hey could have received. Do you think Rooney never has a nagging voice in the back of his mind that thinks 'all this should have been at Everton'.

I'm sure it would be but if I was as good as Rooney I'd be offered to be our all time top earner at let's say 80-100k. I understand I'd make three times as much (including sponsorship etc) and have more chance of winning trophies elsewhere but I love Everton. Also, regarding Barkley, our team is really good now so if I was world class I could be the one to push us on to challenging for titles and no amount of money would stop me doing that when I would already be paid handsomely by Everton.

Lets say Lakaku hit 20 goals for us and we make a bid to keep him and Jose wants Barkley as part of the deal.Yes or No?
