Ross Barkley

Its been obvious since the moment he stepped on the pitch that he has unbeleivable talent.

It was only the Moyes lovers that kept bringing up the negative, then on the Phil Nev thread defend him!!!!!!

As a Moyes lover I didnt think he was ready to play CM, I wanted him to play tho, but at the time Felli was pretty much rocking the AM postion, but from day 1 all I wanted was to see Barkley on the pitch, I didnt care where, I just wanted to see if he was for real.

We can all see hes the real deal, he will 100% make it to the WC and he will destroy it.

How did the Liverpool fans feel when Gerrard was going that season ?

I know you and Davek are the secret kopites on our forums, and I know all you do is:

- post anti-Kenwright stuff, as you're jealous we've got one of our own as a chairman.
- accuse real blues of being kopites, to throw casual readers off the scent.
- post about your beloved Liverpool, but try to hide your redness by making out you hate them. You and Davek know more about Liverpool's tactics and line-up than Everton's. Just see how often you mention the red side, it's embarrassing, mate. You're not fooling anyone. That Liverpool thread in World Football has both of you contributing like 2000 posts about the red side. We don't care.

Good luck with your agenda, lad. You'll need it.

'Kinell. He won't go to United. [Poor language removed] all this speculation talk off anyway, we literally can't enjoy a lad play one game well without our fans trying to sell him. [Poor language removed] off.
Agreed, but with the team playing so well there has to be some angle for our resident Bill bashers to vent their spleen. This thread is it.

I went back and read the articles that came out early the year and this stuck out to me: “I’d say the new manager trusts me more but David Moyes helped me a lot because he helped me come through a lot of injuries,” says Barkley.

“When the new manager first came he gave me a lot of confidence by telling me I’m going to be involved this season and stuff like that.

“He said he believes I am going to be a big player for Everton this season and for seasons to come. He sees me scoring loads for Everton and he was putting confidence into me.

“The way he plays helps me because I know I’m going to be getting on the ball and that’s what I like to do. He speaks to me and I’m learning a lot from him.”

If Moyes was still here I wouldn't guarantee he'd stay. But I think the trust RM has showed in him and the learning that is taking place is worth something.

...I do think Barkley and Martinez are a perfect storm, both in the right place at the right time. Great insight is Neil Warnock who took Barkley on loan and was advised by Moyes that he can't play with responsibility. Warnock admits that he struggled to find a place for him because of this. I admit to not being convinced about the boy, but Martinez has to take great credit for giving him licence. Looking like a special manager is nurturing a special talent.

Criminal. I'm ashamed of my past Moyes support more and more every day.

let's just put it this way: who would know that it was the summer of 2004 that Stephen Gerrard was stalling over a Liverpool contract? Would an Evertonian remember something like that? We were pre-occupied with Rooney leaving at the time.

Anyway, I'll only mention these things if they attempt to call me out again.

Now, back to Ross.

He's boss.

You're still not convinced?

...I know where you're coming from coz I'm in the same boat, but I do think its not so much Moyes being bad as Martinez being exceptional. I think the vast majority of coaches might've shared Moyes view. I watched Barkley against a team of no-marks in a youth international tournament and they put him right wing for the last 20 mins and it was embarrassing watching the opposing full back run past him. Don't beat yourself up over Moyes. I know lots of folk where speaking up for Barkley on here (and well done to them) but don't underestimate the part this manager is playing in bringing him through.
