few papers today saying united will bid for him in january to ease the pressure from moyes.

city got a mention as well.

i really have no idea if he will choose us or the money, id like to say a local evertonian would stay with us so long as we are a decent team but he will get offered 3 times the money somewhere else and as poor as united are at the moment they are still the biggest and most glamarous club in the country by some distance.

i don't trust any agents as well, they will want him to move just so they can make more money.

Chill mate, the Carpathia was a better ship than the Titanic

The lad excites me and I hope he is our "one club player", obviously, I know for him to be a one club player, that would mean we need to show ambition, the question is do we have enough ambition to keep Ross and do we have enough ambition and resources to progress without selling him? discuss...

If you compare him to us, we would be one-club players even if Everton got relegated and went into adminstration. The support we have for the club overrides even football ambition.

Sometimes, really talented pros have this same love.

Le Tiss & Totti come to mind as two world-class players who would've stayed at their boyhood clubs even if they got relegated. Maybe Barkley is of that ilk (unlike once-a-blue-always-a-blue-you-know-who).

the club are attempting to get Ross to sign a new contract - commendable - however if he doesn't sign the fault will lie not with terms and conditions of the deal, but in the boards clear and obvious lack of ambition to compete with the big guns of the premier league.

Who's said he won't sign it?

Like [Poor language removed] is he going to come in for Barkley.

He's under pressure to spend big on world class proven players. Ross is ace, but he's not ready to be the player that United fans want right now.

The price if a sale became on the cards would have to be more, more than 50 mill plus cash only no PX deals.

For that you'd have to get him to sign a new contract first or sell him this summer.

Remember Fellaini only signed a new deal with a release clause, Baines has no interest in signing one.
