That's what happened with Wayne. Euro 2004. I just hope he realizes it will never get better than playing for your boyhood team for the perfect manager. And imagine being part of the group that wins things for the first time in 20 years?

We are certainly a different team than the 1 Rooney left, but ironically we know what happend the following year.

I know what he said publicly, but privately I always wondered if he wasn't fuming, or regretful at that moment. Everton finally make the CL right after he left.

If it was me in that situation, I would have been inconsolable. 'course I never would have left.

Can't find it now, but I'm sure I've seen an old photo of a young Ross as a mascot at a derby game with Rooney. I don't know if he idolized Rooney while he was at the club, but you wonder what affect his leaving (and all the bad feeling with the fans) has left on Ross. Maybe seeing Rooney leave is enough to make him stay.

Was good today. You could see the difference almost immediately when Osman got moved up to AM and he dropped back to DM in the 2nd half.

Looks to be the complete midfielder.

His decision making is getting better all the time. He's only really trying to play in areas where he can hurt the opposition.

I love seeing him breaking from midfield and getting at the oppo CB's.

It's all very well being a boss midfielder but he needs more goals and assists. I've been patient with him so far but if he doesn't buck his ideas up soon he's getting dropped from my fantasy team!

His decision making is very good (except on fast break situations, but that will improve), and his positioning is incredible. He manages to get himself in a position to be an outlet for every single player on the pitch no matter who has the ball.

I cant help but get excited about him, I really can't.

Sadly though, I have seen threads on other forums (none Everton) and they are asking how much it would take to buy him, cringeworthy cradle-snatching vultures.

I know we just want to enjoy him and all that, but, I wonder what kind of lad he is and weather he actually cares about money or Everton? for me personally, I might sound stupid here but I would not even sell him for figures around 50/60 million even though he still has a lot to learn.

The lad excites me and I hope he is our "one club player", obviously, I know for him to be a one club player, that would mean we need to show ambition, the question is do we have enough ambition to keep Ross and do we have enough ambition and resources to progress without selling him? discuss...

Well if you mean paying him silly wages and regularly competing for top 4. We're not quite ready, but then neither is he. Hopefully it'll work hand in hand, and as he gets even more boss, Everton do even more boss things and then we'll have the means to not only keep Ross but attract more players.

A bit utopian, like. But whatever.

few papers today saying united will bid for him in january to ease the pressure from moyes.

city got a mention as well.

i really have no idea if he will choose us or the money, id like to say a local evertonian would stay with us so long as we are a decent team but he will get offered 3 times the money somewhere else and as poor as united are at the moment they are still the biggest and most glamarous club in the country by some distance.

i don't trust any agents as well, they will want him to move just so they can make more money.
