There was nowt wrong with "99%" of us thinking our team was capable if making the CL placings.

We were playing the best football in England at the time.......it was time to believe.

And but for injuries to Deulefeu, Oviedo, Barkley, Lukaku, Seamus and our central defence pairing among others we would most likely still be well in the mix.

Heck, but for the rush of blood between Ossie and Timmy in the Sunderland game the momentum may well have carried us through January.

When we are going well we need to be talking our club up.

One thing I admire about the Kopites.

They always believe an they always talk up their chances.

Their manager was a laughing stock last season.

But they still talked the talk.

Now they are walking the walk.

We could be doing with more of that self confidence at a time when our fresh young coach is changing the style of EFC and the perception of the team among the nation's football fans.

His performances his coming back from injury have merited being benched.

Martinez screwed up by starting him ahead of schedule at Anfield and that worries me.

I wouldn't say those things are more worrying. We all know he's well able to do those things and im sure even Zidane hit plenty of hopeless passes in his time. It's his psyche and attitude (and his severe mental slowness at times!) that are most worrying and how any problems there translate themselves onto the pitch. Maybe after this season is over and done with and all the World Cup talk dies down we'll see what Ross is really capable of. This will allow him to mature properly into a world class player without the pressure of having to do so for the biggest footballing stage in the world.

At the very highest level of sport, it is 'the top two inches' that differentiate talented players from great ones. Does Ross have the necessary 'football intelligence'. Rooney certainly did/does

I disagree, I think the best treatment for him would be to start against West Ham, and Bobby to essentially tell him 'You're my man even if you have a bad game'. Coming off the bench he seems to really struggle.

Would be harsh on Osman mind as he has been top notch recently, but an onform Barkley has got that cutting edge we so dearly missed at the weekend

Just watched that vid, watch Lukaku, hes got his arm up in an offside postion 90% of the time, so static its unreal, hes either standing offside with his hand up or just standing next to 2 defenders with his arm up.
