Football hyperbole is crazy. Ross has gone from being a squad player who occasionally came on, to being rated at €80m and compared with Zidane, to potentially not being included in a bitterly-average England squad for the World Cup. All in the space of two-thirds of a season.

Yeah, I just think it would be great for his development if he did get to the World Cup. If he does go off the boil for a while it's not the end of the world, similar thing happened with Sterling last year and he's recovered well.

I still think his form will come back quicker if he starts ahead of Osman. If he starts he knows he has time to influence the game and canplay with more control. When he comes on for the last 20 we are often chasing a goal and you can see he struggles to adapt to the pace whilst trying to create something every time he gets the ball due to the limited time left in the game
