Sterling signed a new contract worth 50k last summer and will be getting an improved one. 40K is a lot but he would get double that at other clubs

So Sterling signed a 50k contract last summer after doing not much at all? It was only this year he's had a real breakthrough, last year his form was patchy at best.

This isn't the 90's, 40k won't get Barkleys signature on a new contract I'm almost certain of that.

It has to be seriously north of £40k in this day and age. Bonkers though it sounds. £65-70k minimum imo. And a long term deal.

Wasnt that what Neville was on ish?

When he becomes more consistent and stops dallying on the ball as much, he can ask for that huge bumper contract. Until then, 40k sounds fine if true. Remember that Ross has had about 4 good games since coming back from injury.

If he gets that consistency next year, expect another even bigger contract offer next summer.

Pffft, anybody that wants to give him more than 40k is MENTAL.

It doesnt matter how much the vermin throw at garbage like Sterling and he was only given that much cos he wanted out, Ross only wants to play for Everton.

Yeah... do you seriously believe that? I mean, it would be nice, but let's face it: club loyalty for players of today's football is as rare as hen's teeth. They will want to get the maximum out of their playing career in both successes and finances. If the similarly talented boy next door gets twice as much, everyone would start thinking... it's as simple as that. Very few players will choose a club simply for the affection they feel towards it when they could earn multiple times as much at other teams. As unfortunate it is, that's the same in every industry.

I do believe that, at the moment.

If down the line he doesnt feel Everton are progressing im pretty sure he will be off and im not stupid enough to think an offer of 150k wouldnt turn his head, but I dont feel we are at that stage just yet, im pretty sure as he improves so will his wages and at some point his "needs" will outstrip what Everton can offer, but for now, I think he just wants to play football.
