If down the line he doesnt feel Everton are progressing im pretty sure he will be off and im not stupid enough to think an offer of 150k wouldnt turn his head, but I dont feel we are at that stage just yet, im pretty sure as he improves so will his wages and at some point his "needs" will outstrip what Everton can offer, but for now, I think he just wants to play football.

This. He's guaranteed regular football in a team that is not far away from challenging for CL football. Any of the clubs able to offer him higher wages than us can't guarantee him regular football IMO. He has plenty of time to earn big money but now is the time to get 2/3 seasons under his belt and establish himself as a top player. Hopefully by that time we'll have a board that will be able to match his talent and ambition but I won't hold my breath on that.

I reckon his new deal will be £50k-£60k. Above £60k is too much too soon. Our highest earner was Fellaini on £75k, so I'm guessing Baines is on similar. Barkley was hardly our most important player last season, he doesn't deserve to be our highest earner.

His agent will believe he can get much better than that elsewhere. I would be worried if that turns out to be true.

His agent knows he can get him more elsewhere. He also believes that he should stay at Everton for at least another year. I would think we would offer more than 40k.

He will never leave, I'm serious if he is sold I'll give up on Everton. 100% serious, be arsed with that anymore? What's the point.
